The spring steel sheet includes one or more spring steel sheet parts. The bearing receptacle includes a recess with an inner wall and a first groove and a second groove which extend outwards from the recess. The first groove is arranged axially offset with respect to the second groove. The bearing plate parts and the spring steel sheet parts are arranged along the inner wall so that the spring steel sheet runs between the bearing plate and the inner wall and so that the first and second retaining lugs engage in the first or second groove.

A thrust gas bearing includes a collar portion fixed to a shaft portion, a first base part facing one axial end surface of the collar portion, a first gas film forming part formed between the collar portion and first base part, a second base part facing an other axial end surface of the collar portion, a second gas film forming part formed between the collar portion and second base part, and a cooling flow path to carry a fluid flow. The cooling flow path includes a first flow path formed on one axial end side of the first base part and extending from an axial center toward an outer periphery, and a second flow path formed on an other axial end side of the second base part and extending from an outer periphery toward an axial center. The second flow path is located downstream of the first flow path.
RADIAL FOIL BEARING FOR SUPPORTING A SHAFT
A radial foil bearing for supporting a shaft includes a sleeve-like bearing housing with an inner circumference and at least three foil packs distributed over the inner circumference and covering a portion of the inner circumference. Each of the at least three foil packs has an elastic corrugated foil resting against the inner circumference and a top foil. The elastic corrugated foil includes axially opposite side edges running in a circumferential direction and a narrowed portion disposed on at least one of the axially opposite side edges to reduce an axial width and a radial spring rigidity of the elastic corrugated foil at the narrowed portion. The top foil has an underside resting on the elastic corrugated foil and a top side forming a bearing surface for the shaft.
Air foil journal bearing
An air foil journal bearing can entirely restrain movement of a buffer member, which is provided inside a bearing housing in a direction of a shaft of the bearing. The air foil journal bearing includes: the bearing housing having a hollow part into which the shaft is inserted, wherein a first stopping groove is formed at an inner circumferential surface of the hollow part and a second stopping groove is formed at the inner circumferential surface of the hollow part along at least a part of an entire circumference of the hollow part; a top foil provided in the hollow part and configured to have a shape covering the shaft; and the buffer member provided between the hollow part and the top foil and elastically supporting the top foil.
Compliant foil radial bearing
A compliant foil radial bearing (100) comprising: a bushing (110) comprising a bore defined therethrough; a spring foil (120, 130) arranged to conform to a radially inner surface of the bushing; a fluid foil (140, 150) arranged to conform to a radially inner surface of the spring foil for rotatably receiving a rotor, wherein: the radially inner surface of the bore comprises a plurality of axially oriented pads arranged around the circumference thereof.
FOIL AIR BEARING HAVING HERRINGBONE PATTERN
Provided is a foil air bearing having a herringbone pattern to sustain a load of a rotor rotating in a predetermined rotation direction around a center line, the foil air bearing including an upper top foil disposed to face a surface of the rotor, a middle top foil disposed under the upper top foil, a lower top foil disposed under the middle top foil, a bump foil provided as an elastically deformable member and disposed under the lower top foil, and a plurality of slots provided as holes penetrating from an upper surface to a lower surface of the middle top foil, and extending along a lengthwise direction forming a predetermined angle with a rotation direction of the rotor, wherein the upper top foil is deformed in a downward concave shape at locations corresponding to the slots due to air pressure generated by rotation of the rotor, so as to form a herringbone pattern. As such, a herringbone pattern satisfying design requirements may be easily formed and an overall manufacturing cost may be reduced by forming the slots through pressing without using etching or welding.
Sliding components
A pair of sliding components formed in an annular shape and disposed at a relatively rotating position of a rotary machine are constituted by a first sliding component 10 and a second sliding component. A sliding surface of the first sliding component has a plurality of dynamic pressure generation mechanisms each of which includes at least a shallow groove communicating with a leakage side. A sliding surface of the second sliding component has deep grooves each of which has a dimension deeper than that of the shallow groove of each of the dynamic pressure generation mechanisms and communicates with the leakage side, each of the deep grooves overlapping with the shallow groove each of the dynamic pressure generation mechanisms during relative rotation of the first and second sliding components.
Journal foil bearing system with foil support insert member
A journal foil bearing system includes a journal member with a bore and an internal groove. The system includes a shaft received within the bore and supported for rotation relative to the journal member about an axis. The groove extends substantially along the axis. The system also includes at least one biasing foil and a top foil member with at least one arch-bound top foil. The top foil member has a top foil first end and a top foil second end. Additionally, the system includes a foil support insert member that is received within the groove. The foil support insert member includes a spacer member that is disposed between the top foil first and second ends. The spacer member maintains the top foil first and second ends separated, at least, at a distance.
