The outer sleeve is disposed around the elastomeric bushing and extending at least partially over the external shoulders.

BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH CATALYST-FREE ULTRA-STRONG POLYCRYSTALLINE DIAMOND (PCD) MATERIAL
20210381519 · 2021-12-09 · ·

An electrical submersible pumping system includes thrust bearings and radial bearings fabricated from a micro-grained polycrystalline diamond compact (“USPDC”) material that is ultra-strong; and where the USPDC is produced using a catalyst free process. In examples, all components of the bearings are formed from the ultra-strong USPDC material. Pads are in the bearings that have a contact surface, and the pads selectively tilt about a tilt member in response to variations in an opposing contact surface. The tilt members are attached to or otherwise associated with the pads, and are in contact with a resilient member that improves tilting response of the pads. The resilient members are encased in jackets that cover surfaces of the resilient members not in contact with the tilt members. The jackets are set in channels formed in structure of the bearings.

Variable stiffness bushing
11193532 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A variable stiffness bushing includes: inner and outer tubular members; an elastic member connecting these tubular members. At least one pair of circumferentially separated liquid chambers is defined in the elastic member such that first axial ends and second axial ends of the liquid chambers are defined by first and second end walls of the elastic member, respectively. The liquid chambers of each pair communicate with each other by a corresponding communication passage including a circumferential passage provided in one of the tubular members, which includes a coil wound coaxially therewith and a yoke provided with at least one gap constituting the circumferential passage. A magnetic fluid fills the liquid chambers and the communication passage(s). The first and second end walls are configured such that when the tubular members are axially displaced relative to each other, a difference is created between volumes of the liquid chambers of each pair.

Self-lubricating SLZ-type tow dolly assembly
11193541 · 2021-12-07 ·

A self-lubricating SLZ-type tow dolly assembly provides a self-lubricating bearing sleeve operable in an SLZ-type tow dolly. This serves to negate the need for grease fittings and manually greasing of the spindle bushing. The self-lubricating bearing sleeve press fit into a spindle bushing disposed in a spindle assembly to lubricate the spindle bolt. This facilitates rotational motion against the spindle bolt. In one embodiment, the self-lubricating bearing sleeve is a self-lubricating Igus M250 bearing sleeve that press fits into dolly pivot bushings. Rotational and linear motion creates pressure that discharges incremental amounts of the lubricant. Thus, self-lubricating bearing sleeve serves as a self-lubricating, pivot-point bearing sleeve. The self-lubricating bearing sleeve may be a plastic component with a lubricant integral therein. This allows for self-lubricating of bushing and spindle components during rotation of spindle assembly. In alternative embodiments, a trip assembly and a spindle assembly operate in the self-lubricating bearing sleeve.
