Ball bearing
A holder has a protrusion which protrudes from a side surface at a side opposite in an axial direction with respect to a rolling element held in a pocket toward the side opposite in the axial direction. An oil supply hole which penetrates through the holder from the side surface to a surface at a side of the rolling element in the axial direction is formed in the holder. When the holder rotates, the protrusion guides oil into the oil supply hole, and the oil is introduced from the side surface of the holder to the surface on the side of the rolling element.
Friction reducing polyelectrolyte coating
A low friction coated article includes a first structure that has a first lubricated surface coated with a first polyelectrolyte coating. A second structure has a second lubricated surface with a second polyelectrolyte coating opposite the first lubricated surface. The first and second polyelectrolyte coatings include alternating layers of positively charged polyelectrolyte layers and negatively charged polyelectrolyte layers hydrated with a lubricant.
Bearing cage
A bearing cage for a rotor bearing of a turbomolecular pump. The bearing cage includes a plurality of bearing pockets each of which, in use, houses a bearing ball such that the bearing ball operably engages an inner race and an outer race of the rotor bearing. Each bearing pocket of the bearing cage has a primary chamber for housing the bearing ball and each bearing pocket further includes a sump.
Grease dispensing device for rolling bearings
A rolling bearing unit provided with a radially outer ring having an assembly groove, two radially inner rings, two series of rolling elements interposed between the radially outer ring and the radially inner rings and defining between them a first internal grease reservoir. The groove is arranged in an axially intermediate position with respect to the two radially inner rings and a grease dispensing device is housed inside the groove of the radially outer ring and is in turn provided with a second grease reservoir formed inside the radially outer ring and communicating with the first reservoir via the groove. A permeable retaining wall housed is inside the groove so as to retain the grease inside the second reservoir and allow it to flow out towards the first reservoir during operation of the bearing unit, dispensing it in a controlled manner.
BEARING MONITORING BY PRESSURE SENSOR
A wind turbine has a bearing housing, a rolling element bearing within the bearing housing and a space within the bearing housing for containing grease for lubricating the rolling element bearing. A shaft is rotatably supported by the rolling element bearing. A pressure sensor in fluid communication with the space measures the pressure of grease in the space within the bearing housing.
Bearing housing and method of making
A bearing housing for supporting a bearing of a gas turbine engine. The bearing housing comprises an annular body extending around an axis and having an oil inlet and an oil outlet. The bearing housing further comprises an oil manifold integrated into the annular body, the oil manifold having an inner oil channel defined in the annular body and extending circumferentially around the axis, the inner oil channel in fluid communication with the oil inlet and at least one oil jet directed towards the bearing.
ROLLING-ELEMENT BEARING
A rolling-element bearing for a device lubricated with a fluid includes first and second bearing rings defining an interior therebetween in which rolling elements support the first ring for rotation relative to the second ring. A pumping device is located at the interior for pumping the fluid into and/or out of the interior when an element of the rolling-element bearing rotates and the rolling-element bearing is at least partially submerged in the fluid. The pumping device may be a ring having vanes that is attached to the first bearing ring or to a cage of the bearing.

Rolling bearing
A rolling bearing makes use of a porous rolling element and a selected kind of lubricant to impregnate with; is usable in various conditions; does not discharge foreign objects; and features low dust generation and long life. The rolling bearing includes an outer ring 2; an inner ring 1; and a plurality of rolling elements 3 assembled between mutually opposed outer ring track surface 2a and inner ring track surface 1a. The plurality of rolling elements 3 is provided by a combination of a porous rolling element 3a impregnated with a lubricant and a non-porous rolling element 3b.
Bearing lubricator, controller and associated method
A bearing lubricator for lubricating a plurality of device bearings in a device includes a solitary monitored bearing and at least one unmonitored bearing. The bearing lubricator includes a reservoir configured to contain lubricant, a plurality of conduits connecting the reservoir to the plurality of bearing, and a mechanism connected to the reservoir for advancing the lubricant from the reservoir to the plurality of device bearings when actuated. The bearing lubricator further includes a solitary sensor for sensing a variable of the monitored bearing and a controller. The controller stores a triggering value of the variable of the monitored bearing. The mechanism advances a substantially identical quantity of the lubricant from the reservoir to each of the plurality of bearings when a signal indicative of the variable is advanced to the controller and when that signal indicates the triggering value of the variable has been met.
