BEARING HOUSING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE

There is disclosed a bearing housing for a turbocharger. The bearing housing comprises a body and a mounting flange. The body is configured to receive one or more bearings. The one or more bearings are configured to support rotation of a shaft about an axis. The mounting flange extends around the body. The mounting flange comprises a plurality of bores, a first face and a plurality of cavities. The plurality of bores configured to receive a fastener therethrough. The first face is configured to engage a corresponding mounting flange of a turbine housing. The plurality of cavities are in communication with the plurality of bores. The plurality of cavities are axially recessed relative to the first face.

INSULATING CAP FOR BEARING ASSEMBLY

A bearing assembly is disclosed herein. The bearing assembly includes an outer bearing ring including at least one first connection element. The assembly also includes a cap defining an axial portion and at least one radial portion defining a cavity configured to receive the outer bearing ring. The cap includes at least one second connection element configured to mate with the at least one first connection element. The cap is formed from an electrically insulating material to prevent EDM.

Cover assembly for bearing

A bearing cover assembly can be assembled to a bearing housing in which a rolling element bearing is accommodated. The bearing housing assembly includes an annular adapter and an end cap that can be mated together. The annular adapter can have a tapered inner annular surface and can be inserted into the housing bore of the bearing housing. The end cap can have a corresponding outer tapered surface. When the end cap is inserted into the adapter hole defined by the annular adapter, the sliding contact between the tapered inner annular surface and the outer surface radially expands the annular adapter inside the housing bore creating a positive engagement retaining the bearing cover assembly to the bearing housing.

The invention relates to a threaded bearing housing and a side channel blower incorporating the same wherein the threaded bearing housing is installed on the outer casing element of the side channel blower. The bearing housing supports the outer ring of the blower's bearing. The bearing housing location is adjustable radially and along the axial axis of the side channel blower. These adjustments provide a variable positioning of the rotating components of the side channel blower. This adjustment reduces the necessary assembly tolerancing and allows the impeller's blade and the channel between the casing elements in which it rotates to be properly spaced apart for easy and facile installation and efficient operation.

Knuckle joint assembly for a medical device support system. The knuckle joint assembly includes a cartridge assembly that includes a cartridge housing and a rotary bearing. The cartridge housing includes a bore having a central axis and a bearing mount in the bore. The rotary bearing is press fitted in the bearing mount and configured to receive axially therethrough a spindle to rotatably support the spindle about the central axis. The knuckle joint assembly includes a retaining clip and a retaining pin. The retaining clip is selectively movable to disengage and engage a groove in a spindle to respectively support or release the spindle along a central axis. The retaining pin is movable between a first position to allow movement of the retaining clip between positions but prevent removal of the retaining clip, and a second position to block movement of the retaining clip from the engaged position.
