A bearing element may include a bearing substrate and a sliding layer of a sliding layer material. The sliding layer material may include a polymeric material and nanodiamonds. The nanodiamonds may also be surface-functionalized nanodiamonds. The bearing element may be suitable for automotive applications, including, but not limited, use within automotive engines.

The slider straddles the slide rail so that the slider can be reciprocated on the slide rail. The slide rail extends in a direction. The slider includes a plate and two opposite foot portions extending downward from the plate. The slider straddles the slide rail through the foot portions. The plate has a mounting surface. Through the polishing process on the mounting surface of the plate, the roughness Ra of the mounting surface is controlled to be in the range of 0.01 microns to 0.1 microns so as to reduce the deformation of the foot portions when the working platform is installed.

HYBRID BALL BEARING, PARTICULARLY FOR REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR

A Hybrid ball bearing including an outer raceway, an inner raceway, and a plurality of balls arranged between the inner raceway and the outer raceway. The outer raceway and the inner raceway are made from bearing steel and have a first surface RMS roughness R.sub.q1. At least one ball of the plurality of balls is made from a ceramic material and has a second surface RMS roughness R.sub.q2. In a mint condition, the roughness of the raceways R.sub.q1 is 2 to 5 times higher than the roughness R.sub.q2 of the at least one ball, as well as a refrigerant compressor comprising such a hybrid ball bearing.

HYBRID ROLLING BEARING, PARTICULARLY FOR REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR

A Hybrid rolling bearing includes an inner raceway and an outer raceway and a plurality of rolling elements arranged therebetween. The outer raceway and the inner raceway are made from bearing steel, having a first surface RMS roughness R.sub.q1. The rolling elements are made from a ceramic material and have second surface RMS roughnesses R.sub.q2,i. At least one of the rolling elements has an increased surface RMS roughness R.sub.q2,N, which is significantly higher than the RMS roughnesses R.sub.q2,i, of the remaining rolling elements. The hybrid rolling bearing can be installed within a refrigerant compressor.

To provide a sliding member which has hardness that is suitable for the circumstance, to which heavy load is applied, and which is excellent in abrasion resistance property. The sliding member contains a sliding layer for slidably supporting a body to be slid, shot blasting being performed on a surface of the sliding layer, and a sliding surface formed on a surface of the sliding layer, the sliding surface having an uneven configuration with arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of 1.0 m through 2.5 m, 10-point average roughness (Rz) of 5.0 m through 10.0 m, and surface hardness (Hv) of 220 through 250.

A laminate includes a metal substrate and a sliding layer overlying the metal substrate. The sliding layer can include a polymer fabric. The polymer fabric can include first polymer P1. The sliding layer can further included a melt-processable matrix polymer. The melt-processable matrix polymer can include a second polymer P2. In embodiments, either P1 or P2 is a fluoropolymer. The sliding layer can further include a filler. In embodiments, the total amount of fluoropolymer and filler in the sliding layer is at least 30 vol %.
