Electrically Isolated Coupling
An electrically isolated coupler may include a driven body, a drive body and an insulating member. The drive body is made of first metallic material and has a driven end configured to interface with a fastening component. The driven body includes a first interface portion and the drive body includes a second interface portion. The drive body is made of a second metallic material and has a drive end configured to interface with a driving tool. The insulating member is disposed between the drive body and the driven body to electrically isolate the drive body and the driven body from each. The first interface portion includes at least one axially extending portion that extends toward the drive body, and the second interface portion includes at least one axially extending portion that extends toward the driven body. The insulating member is disposed between the respective at least one axially extending portions of the first and second interface portions.
Binary Passive Variable Stiffness Joint
A variable stiffness joint and method to alter the stiffness of the joint with multiple stiffness levels is described wherein a plurality of stiffness bits (m) are used for enabling 2 m stiffness level variations for the joint. Each stiffness bit comprises an elastic element in mechanical connection with a clutch (21, 22, 23). The joint revolves with zero stiffness level when all the clutches (21, 22, 23) are disengaged whereas a clutch (21, 22, 23) involves one of the elastic elements which alter the stiffness of the joint. Engaging other clutches (21, 22, 23) involve more elastic elements for altering the joint stiffness and the resultant joint stiffness is determined by adding the stiffness values of all the involved springs (6, 7, 8).
Roller pinions for driving an aircraft wheel in rotation
A roller pinion for rotating about a central axis generally includes a core having an axial bore at its center for mounting on a drive shaft and recesses extending the length of the core. The recesses define faces with a plurality of regularly distributed sectors extending between them. The roller pinion also includes a cage associated with a plurality of rollers. The cage extends around the outer peripheral surface of the core, and presents, facing the outer peripheral surface of the core, a concentric spherical inner surface that faces the recesses of the core. Protuberances are provided that extend into the recesses. The protuberances have faces positioned parallel to and facing the faces of the recesses. Metal strips arranged in bundles with elastomer material interposed between the strips are inserted in a space between the respective faces of one recess in the core and one protuberance of the cage.

Polygonal Spring Coupling
A polygonal coupling couples torque source to a torque consumer such that input and output portions of the coupling may elastically rotate relative to one another during torque transfer to accommodate rotational speed variations in delivery of torque from the torque source. In an embodiment the torque source is an internal combustion engine with an integrated switchable coupling between the engine crankshaft and a torque transfer segment supporting a motor-generator. The polygonal coupling includes axially-overlapping polygonal-shaped male and female portions which cooperate to pass torque between the output of the integrated switchable coupling and an input of the torque transfer segment. At least one of the male and female portions includes recesses which form flexible arms adjacent to the lobes of the polygonal shape that allow the portions to rotate relative to one another over small angular displacements, and thereby improve damping of crankshaft rotational vibrations.
Pulley assembly
A pulley assembly connecting an ISG driveshaft of an ISG and an engine to each other through a belt may include: a pulley member around which the belt is wound; a spring hub fixed to an internal peripheral surface of the pulley member; an ISG hub rotatably disposed when the ISG hub is distanced from an internal peripheral surface of the spring hub by a predetermined interval and connected to the ISG driveshaft; a limit device provided in the spring hub and ISG hub and limiting a rotation of the ISG hub to rotation by a predetermined rotation angle; and a plurality of leaf springs radially inserted into the spring hub in a circumferential direction thereof, and having one end portions fixed to the spring hub and the other end portions penetrating the ISG hub.
