One way wedge clutch with reduced freewheel friction

A one-way clutch, including: an inner race including a first outer circumference with a first plurality of ramps and at least one wedge plate including: a first inner circumference with a second plurality of ramps; a second outer circumference; and a first plurality of slots: passing through material forming the at least one wedge plate in an axial direction; including respective first ends open to the second outer circumference; and including respective second ends radially outward of the first inner circumference and enclosed by the at least one wedge plate. The one-way clutch includes an outer race including a second inner circumference. The outer race is able to rotate with respect to the inner race in a first circumferential direction. Rotation of the outer race in a second circumferential direction, opposite the first circumferential direction, causes the rotation of the outer race to lock to rotation of the inner race.

A wedge clutch, including: first and second hubs; an outer ring; a first wedge plate radially disposed between the first hub and the outer ring; a second wedge plate radially disposed between the second hub and the outer ring; and a wedge pin including an actuation ramp axially disposed between the first and second hubs. To transition to a connect mode, in which the first and second hubs are non-rotatably connected to the outer ring, the wedge pin is arranged to rotate in a first rotational direction and the actuation ramp is arranged to displace the first and second hubs away from each other. To transition to a disconnect mode, in which the first and second hubs are rotatable with respect to the outer ring, the wedge pin is arranged to rotate in a second opposite rotational direction to reduce an axial distance between the first and second hubs.

Driving apparatus and image forming apparatus with improved drive output member maintainability

A driving apparatus includes a drive output member configured to, when driving a member to be driven, receive a first force from the member to be driven in a direction in which the drive output member comes off a rotation shaft of a motor, and when driven by a drive transmission member, receive a second force from the drive transmission member in a direction opposite to that of the first force. The second force is equal to or greater than the first force.

An object of the present invention is to provide a one-way clutch capable of preventing wear on radially inner engagement surfaces and radially outer engagement surfaces of cams in periods of high-speed freewheeling. The one-way clutch includes an inner race (110) and an outer race (150), a plurality of cams (140) provided between the inner race (110) and the outer race (150), and side plates (120, 130) provided to at least one of the inner race (110) and outer race (150) and positioned on both sides in an axial direction of the cams (140). The plurality of cams (140) are each configured to receive a predetermined centrifugal force to turn in an engaging direction in which the cams engage the inner race (110) and outer race (150) when the inner race (110) and outer race (150) rotate together in the same direction.

A gear apparatus for controlling movement of an output by an input coupled to a power source. The apparatus an input member coupled to the input, an output member coupled to the output and the input member so that movement of the input member causes movement of the output, a selectably releasable member coupled to the input member and the output member, wherein the selectably releasable member remains in a fixed position while the input member and the output member move, and a releasable member brake mechanism coupled to the selectably releasable member, wherein the releasable member brake mechanism is arranged to prevent movement of the selectably releasable member when the input member and the output member move and to allow back driving of the selectably releasable member.

One-way coupling

The present disclosure discloses one example of a one-way coupling that eliminates the need for a component corresponding to a guide piece. The one-way coupling of the present discloser includes an input shaft and an output shaft, and is configured to transmit a drive force from the input shaft to the output shaft, and inhibit the drive force inputted to the output shaft from being transmitted to the input shaft. The one-way coupling includes: a transmitter; an immovable ring; a pressure-contact cam; a first wedge member displaceable between a locked position and an unlocked position, and receiving a pressing force from the pressure-contact cam when the drive force is inputted to the input shaft, and thereby the first wedge member is displaced to the locked position; and a first holder holding an arrangement of the first wedge member when the drive force is inputted to the output shaft.
