A pad for disc brakes for railway vehicles is provided. The pad includes a base plate and friction elements fixed to the plate and arranged in at least two arcuate rows. Each row has friction elements with one same friction surface and a total friction surface ranging from 40% to 80% of the total friction surface of the friction elements of a neighboring external row. Each friction element of at least one neighboring internal row has a friction surface that is less than the friction surface of each friction element of the neighboring external row. The friction elements of each row are arranged on the base plate to act on a surface portion of a brake disc, which partially overlaps surface portions of the disc on which friction elements of a neighboring external row and friction elements of a neighboring internal row act.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FRICTION DISC

A method for producing a friction disc includes the steps: providing a carrier element, providing at least one friction lining; connecting the friction lining to the carrier element by an adhesive agent to form a composite material, wherein the carrier element is connected to the friction lining to form the composite material before the geometry of the friction disc is determined.

Segmented integrated slot wear liner with structural carbon or ceramic core

A friction disk includes a friction disk core having a first surface with multiple channels extending radially across the first surface. The friction disk may further include a first wear liner having two wear liner segments each configured to be coupled to the first surface of the friction disk core to form an annular liner and each including a wear surface, a non-wear surface, and a rib extending from the non-wear surface and configured to be received by one of the multiple channels.

A friction material comprises a base and a friction generating layer penetrating into and integral with the base. The base presents a bonding surface. The friction generating layer presents a friction generating surface facing opposite the bonding surface of the base. The friction generating layer comprises fibrillated nanofibers, friction adjusting particles, and elastomeric particles. A curable resin is dispersed throughout the friction generating layer and the base of the friction material.

BRAKE PAD BACKING PLATE
20210381562 · 2021-12-09 ·

A backing plate for a brake pad that helps improve attachment of the friction pad. The backing plate has a multi-layered structure including a locking plate and a reinforcement plate. Locking holes or locking rings in the locking plate create an undercut portion at mold holes in the reinforcement plate to help mechanically lock the friction material of the brake pad. In some embodiments, retention holes and/or locking rails can be provided to help further retain the friction pad by increasing the available surface area for bonding. Additionally, the retention holes and/or locking rails can help decrease the weight of the backing plate by minimizing the overall size of the locking plate.
