Isolating Decoupler
An isolating decoupler comprising a shaft, a pulley journalled to the shaft on at least one bearing, a one-way clutch engaged with the shaft, a torsion spring engaged between the one-way clutch and the pulley, the shaft comprises an inner race of the at least one bearing, and the torsion spring having an end welded to the one-way clutch and having another end welded to the pulley.
Heavy vehicle drum brake improvements
The present disclosure relates to vehicle drum brakes. In one aspect, there is provided a brake shoe comprising a guide at or near its free end, which prevents brake shoe misalignment. According to a further aspect, there is provided a guide for attachment to a brake shoe at or near its free end, which prevents brake shoe misalignment. According to a further aspect, there is provided a drum brake assembly comprising a brake shoe comprising the guide.
Propeller shaft tube yoke having a welded joint
A tube yoke end fitting for coupling to a shaft tube of a drive shaft assembly includes a tubular first portion having a first end and a second end. The first end configured for coupling to the shaft tube. The tube yoke end fitting includes a second portion including a pair of ears extending outwardly from the second end of the first portion. The pair of ears is diametrically spaced from each other with respect to the first portion. Each of the pair of ears includes an aperture formed therethrough. A yoke length of the tube yoke end fitting measured from a center of each of the apertures to the first end of the first portion is greater than an ear span of the tube yoke end fitting measured between outer surfaces of the pair of ears.
Flexplates and method for capacitor discharge welding of flexplates
A two-piece flexplate assembly having a ring gear welded to a central plate using a capacitor discharge welding process. The weld is established between a joining structure defined between the ring gear and the central plate using either an overlap arrangement, a projection arrangement, or a chamfer arrangement.
Brake assembly
The invention relates to a brake assembly (100; 200; 300), comprising: a caliper comprising a brake cylinder (5) formed in one piece with an outer clamping portion (6), the brake cylinder (5) defining an axial direction (9) and the outer clamping portion (6) forming a pair of outer clamping fingers (6a, 6b) and a recess (7) formed in between the outer clamping fingers (6a, 6b); a brake piston (12) received in the brake cylinder (5) and configured to move axially with respect to the brake cylinder (5); and an inner brake pad assembly (4a) and an outer brake pad assembly (4b), the inner brake pad assembly (4a) and the outer brake pad assembly (4b) disposed axially in between the brake piston (12) and the outer clamping portion (6), wherein the pair of outer clamping fingers (6a, 6b) of the outer clamping portion (6) define a pair of outer clamping surfaces (18a, 18b) facing the brake piston (12), the outer clamping portion (6) configured to exert a clamping force on the outer brake pad assembly (4b) by means of the outer clamping surfaces (18a, 18b). A clamping portion (16) for exerting a clamping force on the inner brake pad assembly (4a) may protrude out of the brake cylinder (5) and extend fully or at least partially laterally outward from the brake piston (12). Alternatively, a maximum lateral extension of the brake piston (12) may be equal to or larger than a maximum lateral extension of the pair of outer clamping surfaces (18a, 18b), wherein the inner clamping portion (16) extends fully or at least partially laterally inward from the brake piston (12).
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A SHRINK-FIT JOINT
A method for manufacturing a torque-transmitting assembly includes: turning an inner component (b) machining an outermost surface of the inner component such that the outermost surface of the inner component has a continuous convex shape; (c) turning an external component; (d) machining an innermost surface of the external component such that the innermost surface of the external component has a continuous convex shape; (e) heating the innermost surface of the external component to expand a size of the innermost surface after machining the innermost surface of the external component; (f) placing the heated external component onto the inner component while the inner component is maintained at room temperature; and (g) holding the inner component and the external component in place until an interface between the innermost surface of the external component and the outermost surface of the inner component reaches the room temperature.
RAILWAY BRAKE SYSTEM FOR A RAILWAY VEHICLE
Disclosed is a brake system for a railway vehicle, including linings each having at least one positioning member for mechanically fastening the linings in a predetermined position on the system with respect to a disc of the vehicle and a bearing face for tightly gripping the disc under the action of an actuator of the system, and at least one return member for separating the linings from the disc in order to release it when the linings are freed from the action of the actuator; each lining has at least one fastening member formed on an edge, the return member has two opposite end lugs connected to one another by an elastic portion and each mechanically fastened with a the fastening member, and the system is configured such that the fastening members and the end lugs are situated at a distance from the at least one positioning member.
GUIDE ASSEMBLY FOR A DISC BRAKE
