Damper
A damper includes a piston provided with a rod, and a housing storing the piston, and generates a braking force by an operation of the piston. The piston includes a seal member relative to an inner wall of the housing; and a slider contacting the inner wall of the housing with a predetermined frictional force. When the braking force is generated, the slider presses against the seal member, and a portion contacting the inner wall of the housing in the seal member deforms toward an outside of the housing. At an inner side of the portion contacting the inner wall of the housing in the seal member, a deformation control portion is provided, which suppresses the seal member from deforming toward an inside of the housing.
DAMPER
Provided is a damper capable of securely assembling a cap on an outer circumference of a rod while reducing a diameter of the cap and reducing an outer diameter of a cylinder. A damper has a cylinder, a rod, and a cap attached to an opening of the cylinder. The rod has a piston on its tip side and a mounting portion mounted on the other of a pair of members on its base end side, the cap has a main body that extends in an axial direction of the rod, and the main body is formed with a receiving opening that can receive the rod from an outside in a radial direction thereof.
Linear shock absorber with improved obstructing member
Shock absorber comprising a tubular base, a piston, a stem connected to the piston, and a plurality of fluid paths for connecting a working chamber and an accumulation chamber on opposite sides of the piston, one of which provides for a ring-shaped obstructing member arranged about the piston and able to slide along an axial length of the piston. The obstructing member comprises a bush of plastic material, which has a flexible lip portion extending from a rear end of the bush and having a radially outer surface tapered towards the rear end of the bush, the lip portion being adapted to seal against a radially inner surface of the base when the obstructing member is in a closed configuration. A support ring member is adapted to radially engage the lip portion of the bush from within, and to push it against the radially inner surface of the base.
DAMPER AND WASHING MACHINE HAVING THE SAME
A washing machine includes a water tub arranged in a case and a damper installed between the case and the water tub for damping vibrations of the water tub. The damper includes a plunger having one end supported on the case; a rod having one end supported on the water tub and the other end movably inserted to the plunger; a housing arranged to wrap around some of the plunger and the rod and including a friction member arranged between the housing and the plunger to contact an outer circumferential surface of the plunger; and a switching device configured to be in a first state in which the rod is coupled to the housing and able to move within the plunger along with the housing and a second state in which the rod is decoupled from the housing and able to move solely within the plunger.

DAMPER AND OPERATION UNIT
Provided is a damper capable of damping a moving member which reciprocates along an axis, using a damping force having a hysteresis property.
A damper includes a cylindrical housing into which a push rod is to be inserted in the direction of an axis thereof, and a damping mechanism placed in the housing and capable of damping the push rod by a damping force having a hysteresis property, wherein the damper is to be attached using a master cylinder mount space of a clutch pedal unit. In the damping mechanism of the damper, engagement between a helical cam groove formed in an inner wall of the housing and a guide protrusion formed on an outer circumference of a rotatable friction disk causes reciprocating linear motion of the push rod to be converted into rotating motion of the rotatable friction disk, and other friction disks, placed on both sides of the rotatable friction disk are pressed against respective sliding surfaces, of the rotating friction disk by an elastic force of a coil spring depending on an amount of displacement of the push rod.
PISTON DEVICE FOR USE WITH AIRCRAFT SEAT
A threshold-activated piston device with dampened response for use an aircraft seat, includes a chamber, a piston, a releasable fastener and a coupler, wherein the fastener is configured to release the piston for a stroke in response to an impact force that exceeds a predetermined threshold. The predetermined threshold may be set by a friction member, spring, a tension fastener, a check valve mechanism and/or a catch mechanism. Motion of the piston device resulting from the impact force imparted is dampened by conversion of kinetic energy into thermal energy. The method of energy conversion may be through, but not limited to, friction, viscous damping or velocity squared damping. The piston device may be configured for reuse in allowing the stroke to be reset. Additional fluid ports and/or a spring enables resetting of the stroke.
