Mechanism for Securing Device
The present application generally relates to attaching a device to a conveyance structure.
Method for making suspension cable to desired length
A method for making a suspension cable to a desired length is provided. The method includes providing an initial pin hole on a tab of a socket associated with the cable. The method includes stretching the cable to a desired percentage of a rated breaking strength of the cable. The method includes measuring a length of the cable. The method includes determining a position of a final pin hole to be formed on the tab based on the measured length of the cable and a predefined tolerance. The method includes creating the final pin hole at the determined position.
Apparatus and method for attaching and testing a sleeve with a coupling end to a steel wire
Apparatus for attaching a sleeve comprising a coupling end to a steel wire. The apparatus comprises a pulling end arranged to connect to a sleeve to be attached to a steel wire, a pulling arrangement connected to the pulling end and being configured to pull a sleeve connected to the pulling end, a swaging arrangement comprising two opposed swaging rolls adapted to crimp the sleeve to a close press fit around a loose end of a steel wire. The apparatus further comprises a testing arrangement for testing the strain capacity of the attachment of a sleeve to a steel wire, the testing arrangement including a holding unit configured to effectively hold a portion of the steel wire fixed and allowing the pulling arrangement to pull the sleeve attached to a wire held fixed in the holding unit in order to verify the attachment.
Inspectable Synthetic Tensile Member Assembly
A protected synthetic tensile member assembly including one or more fixed terminations used to transmit a tensile load from the tensile member to an external component. The tensile member includes access for inspection of its constituent fibers in at least one selected inspection region. The region is selected on the basis of the area of interest to the tensile member's usesuch as the area of greatest stress concentration or the area of greatest abrasion. A removable cover is provided for the inspection region. A user may selectively remove this cover in order to gain access to the inspection region.
Advanced Stranded Cable Termination Methods and Design
A compact overall termination for a multi-stranded synthetic filament cable that provides for the inspection of the individual components. Multiple individual cable strands are provided with a strand termination on their free end. These strand terminations are connected to a collector to form an overall cable termination. An advanced collar is provided that reroutes the strands as they leave the collector and controls the transition to the structure found in the free portion of the cable. The advanced collar often shortens the length required for the transition from the collector to the free portion of the cable.
Non-crimping cable pulling device
A non-crimping cable pulling device may be provided. The non-crimping cable pulling device may be a cap and a body attached to the cap. The body may be an interior that may have a sleeve section and a jaw assembly section. A sleeve may be disposed in the sleeve section of the body and a jaw assembly may be disposed in the jaw assembly section of the body. The jaw assembly may be a plurality of jaws and a grip ring. The plurality of jaws may each have an exterior side and an interior side. Each of the plurality of jaws may have a spring groove on its exterior side. The grip ring may have a plurality of grip ring legs. Ones of the plurality of grip ring legs may respectively engage the spring groove on each of the plurality of jaws.
SYNTHETIC ROPE SOCKET WITH SOLID THIMBLE
A device and method for the end termination of a braided synthetic rope offering full efficiency of the spliced and unspliced, tensile strength of the subject synthetic rope, with a tapered solid compression thimble of unique surface topography allowing forces on the tapered solid compression thimble only in compression, seated inside an enclosing thimble socket with an internal tapered thimble seat free of sharp edges, with a screw-on cap at the top of the enclosing thimble socket with a fitting for attachment for connecting links and configurable for different rigging attachment styles, a contoured groove in the tapered solid compression thimble for receiving a braided synthetic rope wrapped around the solid compression thimble and spliced into itself. In addition, rounded edges at the bottom of the enclosing thimble socket help protect the braided synthetic rope from abrasion and cutting while in service. The device is intended to create a job-site qualified, safe and efficient manner to connect objects in the rigging and mooring industry such as other synthetic mooring lines, tow lines, anchor chains, and wire ropes.
CABLE SECURING DEVICE
A cable securing device facilitates secure connection to a cabling end, and employs a retaining cap, a compression member, a barrel with a tapered interior wall and a fastening device.
Method and device for connecting a wire cable to a cable guide
A method for connecting a wire cable to a cable shoe for a belt buckle mounting comprises the steps of: pre-bending a retaining portion of the cable shoe to form an eye; inserting the wire cable into the eye; extruding the retaining portion so that the outer periphery thereof is reduced. The extrusion of the retaining portion is carried out as impact extrusion, wherein a form closure is produced between the retaining portion and the wire cable. The impact extrusion is carried out by a tool including at least one edge-free first seat for the eye. An apparatus for connecting a wire cable to a cable shoe for a belt buckle mounting comprises a first tool half including a first seat for a retaining portion of the cable shoe pre-bent into an eye and an opposed second tool half including a second seat for the retaining portion. The two tool halves can be forced against each other with high pressure so that the material of the retaining portion starts to flow. At least the first seat is free from edges.
SLIDING CABLE SAFETY DEVICE FOR CONDUITS OR SIMILAR EQUIPMENTS SUBJECT TO PRESSURE AND CORRESPONDING INSTALLATION INCLUDING SUCH SAFETY DEVICE
A safety device with a sliding cable and a corresponding installation, to secure conduits, pipes, piping and similar equipments subject to high pressure due to fluid under pressure circulating in such conduits and equipments. The safety device includes a flexible cable which forms a first and a second attachment eyelet for attaching and connecting the safety device to two parts of the conduits and equipments under pressure. A first and a second sleeve which close two end portions of the flexible cable form, at the ends of the safety device, the first and second attachment eyelets. Two terminals are provided at the opposite ends of the flexible cable.
