Planetary transmission arrangements for marine propulsion devices
A transmission is for a marine drive. The transmission comprises an input shaft that is caused to rotate by the marine drive and an output shaft that is caused to rotate by the input shaft. The input shaft and output shaft are operatively connected to each other such that forward rotation of the input shaft causes forward rotation of the output shaft when the transmission is shifted into a forward gear, and such that forward rotation of the input shaft causes reverse rotation of the output shaft when the transmission is shifted into a reverse gear. A planetary gearset operatively couples the input shaft to the output shaft only when the transmission is shifted into the reverse gear.

At least three of the shift elements (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70) are brakes by which the first, second, or third transmission element (1.1, 2.1; 1.2, 2.2; 1.3, 2.3) of the planetary gear sets (RS1, RS2) can be braked directly or indirectly against a component (G) fixed with respect to a housing.

The invention relates to a gearbox for vehicles, comprising a planetary gear with a ring gear a sun gear and a planet carrier on which at least one planet gear is rotatable mounted, which ring gear and sun gear engages with the at least one planet gear by teeth; and a gearbox housing surrounding the planetary gear. A first axially movable coupling sleeve is in a first gear position arranged to engage the ring gear with the gearbox housing in a second gear position arranged to engage the sun gear with the planet carrier and in a third gear position arranged to engage the planet carrier with the gearbox housing. A second axially movable coupling sleeve is in the third gear position arranged to engage the ring gear with an output shaft. The invention also relates to a vehicle, which comprises such a gearbox.
Multi-speed transmission in planetary design
A planetary multi-speed transmission for a vehicle with a housing is proposed. A first shaft is provided as a drive (An) and a second shaft is provided as an output (Ab) and is arranged axially parallel to the drive. Three planetary gear sets and additional shafts, along with six shifting elements are provided, through which the actuation of several gears are realized. Machine elements are provided for transfer of torque between the drive (An) and the output (Ab). The first shaft is connectable, as drive (An) to the planetary gear carrier of the first planetary gear set, to the sun gear of the second planetary gear set, to the ring gear of the first planetary gear set, to the planetary gear carrier of the second planetary gear set and to the first spur gear stage. The second shaft is connected or connectable, as a drive (Ab), to the first machine element and to the second machine element.
Gearboxes with compound planet gears and methods of operating thereof
Provided are gearboxes including compound planet gear assemblies as well as methods of using such gearboxes. A gearbox includes at least a first ring gear and a second ring gear. Depending on the current gear selection, one of these ring gears may be engaged with a shifting mechanism or not engaged with any ring gears when in a neutral gear. The first ring gear may be constantly engaged with a first planet gear of a compound planet gear assembly, while the second ring gear may be constantly engaged with a second planet gear of the same compound planet gear assembly. The first planet gear may be also engaged with a sun gear coupled to a shaft. Another shaft is coupled to the shifting mechanism. Different gear selections of the gearbox engage different ring gears to the shifting mechanism thereby changing the rotational speed ratio of the two shafts.
GEARING ASSEMBLY, VEHICLE DRIVETRAIN AND ELECTRIC WHEEL HUB THEREWITH
A gearing assembly includes a rotary input member, a rotary output member, and a gearing arrangement between the input member and the output member selectively able to effect a driving engagement between the input member and the output member through at least a first torque connection having a first gear ratio. A second torque connection has a second gear ratio and a third torque connection having a third gear ratio. The gearing arrangement includes a first engagement member operable selectively to effect the first torque connection in a 1:1 ratio, a first planetary gear stage, and a second planetary gear stage. A second engagement member is operable selectively to effect the second torque connection, and a third engagement member operable selectively to effect the third torque connection, respectively, through one or more of the planetary gear stages.
