CVT BELT COOLING SYSTEM

A CVT belt cooling system is provided. The system includes a housing that retains within the housing a variable speed motor and a fan blade coupled to the variable speed motor. The system also includes an integrated microprocessor controller coupled to the housing and electrically coupled to the variable speed motor and coupled to a belt temperature sensor. The housing is configured to couple to a housing of a CVT to provide additional cooling air to the CVT belt. The temperature of a belt of the CVT is determined by the belt temperature sensor and based on the determined temperature, and the integrated microprocessor controller controls the speed of the motor and thereby the speed of the fan to control the amount of additional cooling air flowing into the CVT to cool the belt.

The power ports are configured so as to be couplable with respective rotating members of the decoupling clutch and of the electric machine by means of respective axially sliding couplings.

An electromechanical transmission and/or clutch actuator includes an electric motor for generating a driving rotational movement of a motor shaft, and elements for transmitting the driving rotational movement via a flexible drive from the electric motor to a spindle drive configured to convert the rotational movement to an axial actuation movement. The elements for transmitting the driving rotational movement may include a driving element such as a driving pulley or gear connected coaxially to the motor shaft, a driven element wheel such as a driven pulley or gear connected to the spindle drive, and a flexible element such as a drive belt which transfers the driving rotational movement from the motor shaft to the spindle drive.

Continuously variable transmission

In a transmission belt of a continuously variable transmission, a plurality of types of elements having different shapes is arrayed. A ratio of the numbers of the respective types of the elements in a string portion of the transmission belt is set so that, when first and second pulleys of the continuously variable transmission are misaligned, a total sum of deformation volumes of end portions of the elements on a side closer to a virtual plane in the element width direction is smaller than a total sum of deformation volumes of end portions of the elements on a side farther from the virtual plane. The virtual plane passes a center of a space between sheaves of the second pulley and is perpendicular to a rotating shaft of the second pulley.

Continuously variable transmission

In a transmission belt of a continuously variable transmission, a plurality of types of elements having different shapes is arrayed. Transfer belt

A transfer belt wound between a primary pulley and a secondary pulley of a continuously variable transmission, the transfer belt including: a plurality of elements, each of which has a body that includes a saddle surface and a pair of pillars that extend toward a radially outer side of the transfer belt from both sides of the saddle surface in a width direction; and a bind ring that binds the plurality of elements annularly with an inner peripheral surface of the bind ring contacting the saddle surface of each of the plurality of elements.
