MULTI-FUNCTION VEHICLE CONTROL AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE CONTROL
A multi-function vehicle control for a vehicle having an interior surface and a transmission, the control including a shifter movable to different positions corresponding to different states of the transmission, and an elongate base extending from the interior surface laterally across a fore-aft direction of the vehicle and defining a driver-facing side. The elongate base movably supports the shifter for multiple movements of the shifter relative to the elongate base including: a first movement of the shifter along a longitudinal direction of the elongate base operable to control a first operation of the transmission; a second movement of the shifter away from the driver-facing side, in a forward vehicle travel direction operable to control a second operation of the transmission; and a third movement of the shifter toward the driver-facing side, in a rearward vehicle travel direction operable to control a third operation of the transmission.
Lever apparatus for electronic shift system
Disclosed herein is a lever apparatus for an electronic shift system, which is configured for selectively realizing an electronic shift function, an EPB function, and an auto hold function using one lever.
Shift knob with selectable switches
A knob with internal switches can be installed on a gear shift to provide a driver with handy access to the switches while keeping a hand on the shifter. This can be very handy during four wheeling. A particular switch can be selected by rotating the lower section of the knob to the switch position for that switch. The selected switch can be activated or closed by pulling a spring loaded sliding piece up into the knob. A lockout position prevents the lower section from rotating while detents provide tactile guidance as to when the knob is in a switch position or the lockout position.
Shifter assembly
A shifter assembly selects a first mode and a second mode of a transmission for a vehicle. The shifter assembly includes a housing and a shift lever movably coupled to the housing and pivotable relative to the housing. The shift lever includes a body and a cap defining an aperture and being coupled to the body. The cap is rotatable relative to the body between a first and a second orientations. The shift lever further includes a toggle device partially received by the cap in the aperture with at least a portion of the toggle device being moveably coupled to the body between a rest and a depressed positions. The shift lever further includes an element mounted to the toggle device and rotatable with the cap between the first and the second orientations. The shift lever further includes a sensor system configured to interact with the element to detect rotation of the cap between the first and the second orientations.
Speed change device for motorcycle
A speed change device for a motorcycle has a lost motion mechanism associated with a shift rod of a link mechanism that transmits an operating force applied to a shift operating member to a shift spindle. The speed change device is provided with a shift stroke sensor that detects an amount of expansion/contraction stroke of the shift rod and with a shift spindle sensor that detects rotation of the shift spindle. Further provided is an output control device that controls the output of an internal combustion engine on the basis of detection signals of the shift stroke sensor and the shift spindle sensor. The shift spindle has a detection-target recessed portion formed by recessing a part of a cylindrical outer circumferential surface of the shift spindle. The shift spindle sensor detects the rotation of the shift spindle in cooperation with the detection-target recessed portion.
GEAR SHIFT LEVER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GEAR SHIFT LEVER
A gearshift lever for selecting a gear ratio of a motor vehicle transmission may include a body formed of an injection molded plastic material. The gearshift lever may further include a component that is at least partially integrated into the gearshift lever via the injection molded plastic material, where the component is at least one of a mechatronic component and a mechanical component.
Electronic Vehicle Shift Accessory
An electronic vehicle shift accessory may include a body portion including an external surface and an interior chamber; an electronic display screen positioned on an external surface of the body portion; and a computing device positioned within the interior chamber of the body portion. The computing device may be communicatively coupled to the electronic display screen and configured to communicate with an external electronic device. The body portion may be removably couplable to a gear selector and the computing device may be configured to render customizable content on the electronic display screen.
Method of adjusting a gear lever neutral position
A vehicle includes a gear shifter operable to shift a manual transmission. An actuator is connected to the shifter and actuatable to bias the shifter to at least a first or second neutral position. The vehicle further includes a controller configured to bias the shifter, via the actuator, to one of the neutral positions based on a speed of the vehicle.
Combination key and gear selection knob
A system for ignition control and gear selection of a vehicle is described herein. The system comprises a removable device, a docking portion of the vehicle, and a control module of the vehicle. The removable device comprises identification circuitry; and a body housing the identification circuitry. The docking portion of the vehicle is configured to receive the removable device. The control module of the vehicle is configured to identify the removable device prior to ignition of the vehicle, the removable device identified based, at least in part, on the identification circuitry; cause ignition of the vehicle in response to detecting a first interaction with the removable device; and cause the vehicle to change from a first gear to a second gear in response to detecting a second interaction with the removable device.
VEHICLE AND ACCESSORY CONTROL SYSTEM
A control system for a vehicle, such as an off-road recreational vehicle, that includes a powertrain and an accessory. The control system includes an actuator, such as a paddle shifter, configured to operate in a powertrain mode to control an aspect of the powertrain, and to operate in an accessory mode to control an aspect of the accessory. The control system also includes a selector configured to switch the actuator between the powertrain mode and the accessory mode.
