Rattling of a shift body in a second direction is suppressed when movement of the shift body toward one side in the second direction is restricted. In a shift lever device, a projecting portion of a hook of a lever projects toward the left from the lever. When disposing the lever on an R position side from an N position, a leading end face of the projecting portion is restricted from pivoting toward the left side by a right face of a rear restricting portion of a left plate, such that a pivot operation of the lever toward the right side is restricted. Flexing of the hook can thereby be suppressed, enabling rattling of the lever in a left-right direction to be suppressed.

Shifting device for vehicle

A shifting device in which a selected shift position can be confirmed easily, and which can be fitted easily in vehicles. The shifting device comprises: a restriction member that restricts a movement of a shift lever into a predetermined shift slot in a first shifting mode, and that cancels the restriction of the movement of the shift lever in a second shifting mode; and an indicator that indicates a first pattern when the first shifting mode is selected, and that indicates a second pattern when the second shifting mode is selected.

Low cost stamped shift assembly and steering column

A steering column assembly that includes an upper jacket and a gear shift assembly. The upper jacket extends along a steering column axis. The gear shift assembly includes a shift assembly bracket and shift shaft assembly. The shift assembly bracket has a column mounting portion that is operatively connected to the upper jacket and a cradle portion extends from the column mounting portion. The cradle portion has a first sidewall and a second sidewall each extending from a base. The shift shaft assembly extends at least partially through the first sidewall and the second sidewall.

SHIFT GUIDE STRUCTURE

A shift guide structure of a transmission includes a guide pin located on one of a shift-and-select shaft and a case, the shift-and-select shaft being supported by the case and axially and circumferentially movable; and a guide plate located on the other of the shift-and-select shaft and the case, the guide plate being provided with a path for guiding the guide pin between positions corresponding to gears. The guide pin includes a cylindrical part. The guide pin includes an insertion to be inserted into the path. A cross section of the insertion includes an outer circumferential edge that includes two mutually parallel linear parts with spacing smaller than an outer diameter of the cylindrical part, and two projections that connect ends of the two linear parts. The projections each include a curved part having a radius of curvature smaller than a radius of the cylindrical part.

Shift device

In a shift lever device, a lever moves an operation member when the lever is rotationally operated in a front-rear direction, and the lever rotates a select link such that the select link moves the operation member when the lever is rotation operated in a left-right direction. The position of the operation member is detected to detect a shift position of the lever. When the lever is rotation operated in the front-rear direction, the lever therefore moves the operation member without being through the select link, thereby enabling the precision with which the shift position of the lever in the front-rear direction is detected to be raised.

Modular shift assembly

A steering column assembly includes a jacket assembly and a modular shift assembly that is operatively connected to the jacket assembly. The modular shift assembly includes a shift bracket, a shaft, and a shift clevis. The shift bracket has a first shift bracket portion that defines a shift bracket first opening and a second shift bracket portion. The second shift bracket portion defines a shift bracket second opening. The shaft has a first shaft portion and a second shaft portion. The second shaft portion is at least partially received within the shift bracket opening. The shift clevis extends at least partially through the first shaft opening.

The present invention provides separately adjustable right and left spring centering forces for the gearshift lever of manual automobile transmissions by locating individual coil springs to bear on separate spring biasing members extending from the shift lever ball with a separate spring force adjusting screw for each spring and further provides for relocating the gearshift lever of a non-original transmission with a horizontally keyed offset arm connecting the transmission gearshift stub shaft to the gearshift lever with vertical screw connections loaded in tension rather than bending or shear.

In a shift device, a changing mechanism displaces a carrier to thereby change a rotation stratum in which the carrier is disposed and change rotation paths with which detent pins of the carrier are engaged. For this reason, to change the rotation paths with which the detent pins are engaged, the changing mechanism needs only to displace the carrier, and so the configuration of the changing mechanism can be simplified.

SHIFT DEVICE

In a shift device, contact projections of a rotation cylinder make contact with side faces of recesses of an detent plate due to an urging force so as to urge a lever toward a shift position side. The contact projections make line contact with the side faces of the recesses. This enables the contact amount between the contact projections and the side faces of the recesses to be increased, enabling the contact pressure between the contact projections and the side faces of the recesses to be lowered.

Steering column assembly having a shift gate assembly

A shift gate assembly includes a detent plate having a shift gate pattern. The shift gate pattern is provided with a first detent, a second detent, and a plurality of intermediate sides that extend between the first detent and the second detent. A side of the first detent that faces towards another side of the second detent is disposed in a non-parallel relationship with another side of the second detent.
