The gear wheel and the bushes are arranged axially next to each other; the gear wheel and the driving bush are constrained together in the circumferential direction; the spring surrounds externally the bushes; the first collar surrounds externally the spring; and the second collar surrounds externally the first collar. The gear wheel and the bushes are constrained to the driven shaft in the axial direction by means of two stop rings; and the driven bush is constrained to the driven shaft in the circumferential direction by means of at least one tongue.

The mounting assembly is configured for connection with the input shaft of a transmission, and the interface is configured for connection with an output of a drive selector.

POWER TOOL WITH COMPLIANT SHIFTING MECHANISM

A compliant shifting mechanism for a power tool includes a selector, a first shift plate rotatable in response to rotation of the selector, a second shift plate rotatable in response to rotation of the first shift plate, a shift member moveable in response to rotation of the second shift plate to shift between a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation, a first torsion spring coupled to the first shift plate, and a second torsion spring coupled to the second shift plate. In response to rotation of the selector in a first direction, the first torsion spring may bias the first shift plate in the first direction for shifting compliance in the first direction. In response to rotation of the selector in an opposite second direction, the second torsion spring may bias the second shift plate in the second direction for shifting compliance in the second direction.

POWER TOOL WITH COMPLIANT SHIFTING MECHANISM

A compliant shifting mechanism for a power tool includes a selector, a first shift plate rotatable in response to rotation of the selector, a second shift plate rotatable in response to rotation of the first shift plate, a shift member moveable in response to rotation of the second shift plate to shift between a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation, a first torsion spring coupled to the first shift plate, and a second torsion spring coupled to the second shift plate. In response to rotation of the selector in a first direction, the first torsion spring may bias the first shift plate in the first direction for shifting compliance in the first direction. In response to rotation of the selector in an opposite second direction, the second torsion spring may bias the second shift plate in the second direction for shifting compliance in the second direction.

DISCONNECTABLE TWO SPEED VEHICLE REAR DRIVE UNIT WITH TWIN CLUTCH

An improved twin clutch, two-speed disconnect secondary drive unit, which may be configured as a rear drive unit (RDU) for an all wheel drive vehicle is provided. The RDU is driven through an input shaft, which is connected to a vehicle drive source such as a motor, and includes a twin clutch assembly, which is connected to the drive shaft and is selectively actuated to drive left and right main shafts, which drive respective wheels of the vehicle. The RDU further includes a modular a shift assembly mountable to one or both of said main shafts to drive output shafts, wherein each shift assembly is selectively operable between the hi-range and lo-range modes to shift driving operation of the output shafts between hi-speed and lo-speed operation. The shift assembly may be controlled by improved mono-stable or bi-stable actuators.

The switching device comprises a shift collar, a shift fork which engages in the shift collar, a control actuator which is arranged in the first transmission housing portion and an actuator rod which is connected at one end to the control actuator and at the other end to the shift fork. The actuator rod is supported in a first guiding hole which is formed in the first transmission housing portion. It is proposed that a second guiding hole which is formed in the first transmission housing portion parallel with the first guiding hole be formed and a guide rod which is orientated parallel with the actuator rod be provided and be connected at one end to the shift fork and at the other end be supported in the second guiding hole.
