A bellows excellent in durability has an accordion shape where crest parts with U-shaped cross sections and trough parts with U-shaped cross sections are repeatedly formed via slope parts, the slope parts leading to the crest part includes first portions, second portions, third portions and fourth portions which are continuously connected, in order, to one another from the crest part toward the adjacent trough parts, and in a free length state of the bellows, a separation distance between the second portions of the both slope parts is longer than separation distances between the first portions and between the third portions.

VALVE ASSEMBLY
20200109795 · 2020-04-09 · ·

A valve assembly comprising: a fluid flow passage to permit the flow of a fluid through the valve assembly; a valve seat; and an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly comprises: a valve member moveable relative to the valve seat between a first position in which the valve member is at least partially engaged with the valve seat to at least partially block the fluid flow passage, and a second position in which the valve member is remote from the valve seat; an actuator body in a fixed position relative to the valve seat; and a metal bellows that is attached to the valve member and to the actuator body and is disposed within the fluid flow passage. The valve member of the actuator assembly is moveable relative to the actuator body and extends around the actuator body such that the actuator body is disposed within the valve member.

ACTUATOR HAVING AN INTERNAL CONDUCTIVE PATH

An actuator includes a piston and a housing. The piston includes a piston shaft that is configured to reciprocate within a chamber of the housing. The actuator includes a gland electrically coupled to the housing. The gland forms at least a portion of a first end of the chamber. The actuator also includes a first conductor positioned in the chamber. The first conductor is coupled to the gland and to a first side of the piston to electrically couple the piston to the housing.

A bellows system includes a first bellows segment having a first end and a second end, the first bellows segment configured to elastically compress and expand. A first plate is coupled to the second end of the first bellows segment and a first sleeve is concentric with the first bellows segment, the first bellows segment disposed within the first sleeve. A second bellows segment has a third end and a fourth end. The second bellows segment is configured to elastically compress and expand, and the third end of the second bellows segment is coupled to the first plate. A second sleeve is coupled to the first plate. The second sleeve is concentric with the second bellows segment and the first sleeve, and the second bellows segment is disposed within the second sleeve. The second sleeve is configured to travel within the first sleeve.

Metal bellows

A metal bellows of great durability capable of preventing breakage at both end portions of the metal bellows is provided. The metal bellows is annular-shaped and has, axially repeatedly, a structure in which, from an axial end portion 10c, a belly, a valley, a belly, a peak, and a belly are integrally formed in series sequentially in this order. The end portion 10c has a first connection belly 10d connected to a fitting member 15, and a connection valley 10e and a second connection belly 10f extending sequentially from the first connection belly 10d axially inward. The axial width b1 of the connection valley 10e in a free state is set larger than the axial width of valleys 10i, 10m, . . . or peaks 10g, 10k, . . . in a portion other than the end portion 10c.

ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED BELLOWS

A bellows assembly includes a first compliant portion extending outwardly at a first angle relative to a lateral axis, a second compliant portion, and a third compliant portion extending outwardly at a second angle relative to the lateral axis. The second compliant portion is formed between, and coupled to, the first and third compliant portions. The first angle and the second angle are between about 30 degrees to 80 degrees, such that the first compliant portion and the third compliant portion form inward extending cone shapes.

Integral bellows for oilfield equipment

A bellows assembly for a downhole tool includes a first seal ring, a second seal ring, and a bellows positioned at least partially between the first and second seal rings. The first seal ring, the second seal ring, and the bellows are integral with one another such that the bellows assembly is monolithic. The bellows is configured to expand and retract. The bellows is annular and has a diameter that varies over a length of the bellows. A material composition of the bellows varies over the length of the bellows.

Metal bellows type accumulator

The invention provides a metal bellows type accumulator having an outer shell provided in its one end with a pressure introducing passage in an opening manner, an axially expandable metal bellows including peak portions directed to an outer side in a radial direction and trough portions directed to an inner side alternately in an axial direction, having an axially fixed end to the outer shell and separating an inner chamber of the outer shell into a pressure introducing chamber and a gas chamber charged with cushion gas, and a support member arranged in an inner periphery of the metal bellows, fixed to the outer shell and constructed by a cushioning member. A clearance in a radial direction between the trough portions of the metal bellows and the support member is smaller than a clearance in a radial direction between the peak portions of the metal bellows and the outer shell.

Actuator having an internal conductive path

An actuator includes a piston and a housing. The piston includes a piston shaft that is configured to reciprocate within the housing. The actuator also includes a conductor coupled to the piston within the housing and configured to electrically couple the piston to the housing as the piston reciprocates within the housing.

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED SEAL ROTOR; AND METHOD
20240159159 · 2024-05-16 ·

The present disclosure relates generally an additive manufactured rotor for a seal assembly. The rotor surrounds a central axis and extends along the central axis from a first axial end to an opposite second axial end. The rotor is rotatable about an axis of rotation that is co-axial with the central axis. The rotor can include an outer ring and an inner ring that is connected to the outer ring by a radial web. The outer ring has a rotor face for providing a sealing surface at the first axial end. The outer ring can define a first annular cavity and the inner ring can define a second annular cavity that is radially separated from the first annular cavity. The radial web can define a fluid channel for providing fluid communication between the first annular cavity of the outer ring and the second annular cavity of the inner ring. The first and second annular cavities can be concentric with the axis of rotation.
