Seal ring
Provided is a seal ring configured so that stable lubrication performance can be provided across a wide range of rotation speed. A seal ring for sealing a clearance between a rotary shaft and a housing includes inclined grooves formed at a sliding surface so as to be arranged in a circumferential direction, the inclined grooves being open on an outer diameter side of the seal ring to generate a drawing pressure. The seal ring further includes supply grooves being open on a sealed fluid side of the seal ring and extending in a radially outward direction toward inner diameter sides of the inclined grooves.

Valve packing fugitive emission detection system
In accordance with the resent invention, there is provided a fugitive emission detection system for use in conjunction with a valve having a packing deign which includes a primary packing and a secondary packing. The valve further includes a leak port which is disposed within the valve bonnet between the primary and secondary packings. The detection system is operative to maintain the leak port in a normally open state. As a result, any fluid leakage past the primary packing is normally sent to the detection system, as opposed to being applied to and thus pressurizing the secondary packing. In the event of that a prescribed level of fluid leakage beyond the primary packing is detected, the leak port will be closed. The closure of the leak port facilitates the pressurization of the secondary packing.
SEALING DEVICE
The present invention is to provide a sealing device that has a small number of parts as three or less to achieve a more compact sealing device. The sealing device is combined an inner seal ring, an outer seal ring held in an outer circumferential holding groove of the inner seal ring, and a back ring. The outer seal ring satisfies a dimensional size relationship of T>A when T is the radial thickness dimension of the outer seal ring, G is the protrusion gap dimension, R is the radial width dimension of the chamfered sections on the edges of the open side of the seal installation groove, and A is the sum of the protrusion gap dimension G and the radial width dimension R of the chamfered sections on the edges of the open side.

Remotely adjustable gland follower for a shaft sealing system
An improved remotely adjustable gland follower for a stuffing box of a rotary or reciprocal mechanical device is provided. In one embodiment of the invention, the gland follower includes a body portion with at least one cylinder having a fluid inlet at the power end and a piston. The piston has a hydraulic end positioned within the cylinder and an opposed packing face surrounding the shaft and configured to extend into the seal cavity. The piston engages and compresses the packing in the seal cavity when pressurized by fluid introduced into the fluid inlet at the power end of the cylinder. At least one o-ring groove may be formed in the hydraulic end of the piston to receive at least one o-ring for improving the hydraulic seal in the cylinder.
Screw Conveyor Shaft Seal and Related Methods
The present disclosure provides a shaft seal for a screw conveyor. The shaft seal includes a housing that includes an outboard frame plate and an inboard frame plate. The shaft seal also includes an outboard compression plate and an inboard compression plate situated between the outboard frame plate and the inboard frame plate. A least three sealing devices are situated between the outboard compression plate and the inboard compression plate with an annular recess at least partially formed along at least one of the inboard compression plate and the outboard compression plate.
HYDRAULIC FLUID PUMP AND STUFFING BOX ASSEMBLY FOR SAME
A stuffing box assembly for a fluid end of a hydraulic fluid pump includes a first stuffing box member having a first plunger bore configured to receive a plunger of the hydraulic fluid pump and a plurality of seals. The first stuffing box member further comprises a first bore spaced apart from the plunger bore. A second stuffing box member has a threaded stuffing nut bore configured to receive a stuffing nut of the hydraulic fluid pump. The second stuffing box member further comprises a second bore spaced apart from the stuffing nut bore. A fastener is configured to extend through the first and second bores to secure the first stuffing box member to the second stuffing box member.

Sealing device, in particular for a shaft inserted transversely in a vessel of fluids under pressure or granular material in movement
A sealing device for a vessel to achieve a fluid-tight seal in an aperture made in the lateral wall of said vessel, into which aperture a shaft is inserted. The sealing device comprises first sealing means disposed in contact with the shaft in the zone of said aperture, and second sealing means, comprising a containing body and a flexible connection element. The first sealing means comprise a plurality of sealing rings, disposed coaxial to the shaft and in contact with the latter, and a containing tube to contain the sealing rings. The lateral wall of the vessel comprises an interface flange. A closing flange is connected to the interface flange and to a flanged end of the containing body by means of attachment means and is positioned in contact with the containing tube and with the flexible connection element to keep the first sealing means in a determinate axial position with respect to the shaft.
