Breakaway coupling
There is provided a breakaway coupling between two lines. The first coupling half possesses an opened jaw, which is formed by catch pieces of the short lever arms of dual-arm catch levers, which are pre-stressed in the closing direction by compression springs, and in this way engage behind oblique surfaces of an end flange of the second coupling half. When a predetermined pulling force on the lines is exceeded, the breakaway coupling disengages.
FOLDED SEALING RING AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING COMPONENTS OF A FOLDED SEALING RING
A flanged sealing ring which is used to seal a pipe connection is produced from a material having a metal fraction distributed substantially homogeneously in the flanged sealing ring. The flanged sealing ring can be used in a device for detecting components of a flanged sealing ring in a pipeline system that includes a plurality of pipes, at least two of which are held against each other at a flange in such a way that sealing is effected by a flanged sealing ring. Using a metal detector and a gate for removing a metal-containing substance from the pipeline, which gate is arranged behind the metal detector in the conveying direction, the flanged sealing ring can then be detected, and therefore, when components of the flanged sealing ring detach, detection can be performed at the metal detector and discharging can be performed at the gate.
Flexible pipe element and method for inserting a seal in a flexible pipe element
A flexible pipe element is provided formed as a metal bellows with at least one corrugated bellows section and a bellows brim, which forms one end of the metal bellows, and a connection element for connecting the metal bellows to a continuing pipe part or to a connector, with the connection element having a connection area for abutting a contact area of the bellows brim. An annular bulge is formed in the contact area of the bellows brim and/or in the connection area of the connection element projecting beyond an average level of the contact area and/or an average level of the connection area in order to form a linear seal between the contact area and the connection area. A method for producing such a flexible line part is also provided.
Joint Seal System & Method
A joint seal system and method may include a seal and a band. The seal may be positioned between abutting flanges of two adjacent duct sections. A band may be positioned over the two flanges and the flange interface. The joint seal system and method may be configured to mitigate and/or eliminate leakage of pressure, flue gases, condensate, and/or any other fluid, gas, and/or vapor between abutting flanges of duct sections at a flange interface.
SELF-SEALING A FLANGE
A sealing assembly for flanges is described. The sealing assembly includes a wedge, a first sealing element, a second sealing element, and a fastener. The wedge has a first surface, a second surface, and a third surface. The first surface defines a pressure void with a first flange and a second flange. The first sealing element engages the second surface of the wedge and the first flange. The second sealing element engages the third surface of the wedge and the second flange. The fastener couples the first sealing element, the first flange, the second flange, and the second sealing element together. The wedge slides toward the sealing elements responsive to a pressure increase in the pressure void. The sealing elements force the flanges toward each other responsive to the wedge sliding toward the first sealing element and the second sealing element.
DEVICE FOR CONNECTING A GAS-CARRYING PIPE ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING A GAS-CARRYING PIPE ELEMENT
The present invention relates to a device 100 for connecting a gas-conducting conduit element 1, in particular a hydrogen-conducting conduit element, to a counterpart 2, in particular a component, comprising: at least one screw body 10, which is configured to be brought into tight engagement, in particular into gas-tight engagement, with the counterpart 2; a first seal 3, which is in the form of a valve body 3a which is configured to be brought into contact, in particular into gas-tight contact, with a valve seat 4 provided on the counterpart 2, or which is in the form of a flat seal; and a second seal 5 which operates on a sealing effect principle according to which the sealing effect is exerted or deployed irrespective of an axial displacement, in particular in an installation direction E, which is necessary for creating the sealing effect of the first seal 3.
Connection System
A system of connecting two flexible tubes together using the rolled back ends of the tubs to create abutment surfaces which when urged together for a fluid-tight seal. The rolled back ends are supported on tube supports including a spigot extending along the outside of the tube and over which the rolled ends are supported. Urging two rolled backed ends together creates a fluid tight seal. This may be achieved by attaching flanges to the rolled back ends and using standing clamping means. Alternatively, other types of clamping means can be used.
Rotary seal and bearing
Systems and methods for sealing a static or rotary tube to a rotary tube that is part of a thermal unit performing an airless or oxygen starved high-temperature incineration process like pyrolysis. Embodiments comprise a seal comprising a bearing assembly suspended on gimbals, the bearing assembly comprising an outer housing supporting therebetween a plurality of support rollers in contact with a rolling seal disk disposed between the flanges of the tubes. Embodiments comprise features that aid in preventing the bad effects of high temperatures and axial thrust loads of the tubes, including coordinating beveled portions on the support rollers and rolling seal disk. Embodiments comprise features for modularity and ease of maintenance, including gland plates, bore holes for oil and/or grease.
Wedge adapter seal
A wedge adapter seal may comprise a hard tube having a radially projecting flange and a wedge shaped body comprising a base flange and extending between a base flange face and a sealing face, wherein the hard tube is in fluid communication with the wedge shaped body with the radially projecting flange coupled proximate the sealing face. A wedge adapter seal may further comprise a ferrule coupled to the hard tube, wherein the ferrule comprises the radially projecting flange, a traveling flange disposed about the hard tube and configured to travel axially with respect to the hard tube, wherein the traveling flange comprises at least one of a triangular geometry having convex sides forming a Reuleaux triangle, a circular geometry, a rectangular geometry, a square geometry, or an oblique geometry.
Air lock system
The techniques introduced here include a system and method for efficiently connecting two or more pipes through the combination of a pushing plate, a gasket and a sealing plate. Such techniques exploit the presence of concentric protuberances, or rings, on the sealing plate that help, also thanks to the space between them, in keeping the cleanness, tightness and flexibility of the conjunction, especially when sticky substances, like a sludge, are dealt with.
