TUBE COUPLING
A tube coupling comprising a coupling body (1) having an opened ended throughway to receive a tube (T). A collet (41) is located in the open end of the through way having a ring (52) and a plurality of flexible arms (53) extending generally axially of the ring into the throughway. The throughway has a tapered surface (43) convergent towards the open end and the collet arms have heads at their distal ends for engaging both of the tapered surface and a tube extending through the collet into the throughway to be compressed against the tube by the tapered surface with outward movement of the collet with respect of the throughway to secure the tube in the throughway. A collet lock is formed on the collet (41), the collet having a locked rotary position in which the lock holds the collet in an outward tube securing position and an unlocked rotary position in which the collet can move axially with respect to the throughway for release and engagement of a tube by the collet. One of the body (1) and the collet (41) is provided with a cam surface (46) and the other is provided with a cam follower (56), the cam surface being provided to provide the locked and unlocked positions. The disclosure also extends to the collet (41).
CONNECTOR HAVING A MATING HEAD
A connector and a process for coupling a tube to another device is disclosed. The connector comprises a receptacle for receiving a first tube. The receptacle includes a socket and a modular head mated to said socket in one of a plurality of relative orientations. The modular head comprises an indexing member. A retention clip embraces the receptacle and has a leg positioned in a slot in the receptacle.

HOSE CLAMP
There is provided a hose clamp, including a plate spring body and a pair of tab portions. The plate spring body has a base portion, and arm portions. A first overlap portion and a second overlap portion are formed at the arm portions, and in a state where a diameter of the plate spring body is reduced, the first overlap portion and the second overlap portion overlap with each other in the circumferential direction of the plate spring body. Engagement portions are provided on facing surfaces of the pair of tab portions respectively, the engagement portions holding the plate spring body in a state where the diameter of the plate spring body is expanded. The engagement portions are provided at positions closer to side edge portions being opposite to facing side edge portions of the overlap portions than to the facing side edge portions.

Securing tool
A securing tool and methods for its use are described herein. In various embodiments, the securing tool may include a handle and one or more prying members positioned at a first end of the securing tool opposite the handle. The prying member(s) may be shaped to engage a release of a self-tensioned hose clamp to cause the handle to be manipulable to spring the self-tensioned hose clamp. The securing tool may include first and second sensors configured to provide first and second signals, respectively, that are indicative of sensed occurrence of first and second events after the handle is manipulated to spring the self-tensioned hose clamp. In various embodiments, if the first and second signals satisfy a criterion, the hose clamp may be deemed to have been properly installed onto a hose or other conduit.
CONNECTOR HAVING A PILOT WITH AN INDICATOR
A connector and process for coupling a tube and the resulting assembly is disclosed. A receptacle includes pilot in a mounted position. The pilot is slidable from a mounting position to a final position while the pilot urges legs of a retention clip into a spread condition during a transition between the mounting position and the final position. In the final position, the pilot permits legs of the retention clip to retract to a relaxed condition and an indicator piece is visible.

Hose clamp
There is provided a hose clamp. A clamp has a clamp body. On one end portion of the clamp body, a slit is provided and a first grip piece is formed. On the other end portion of the clamp body, a second grip piece is formed. A holder is provided with a holding groove and a grip portion. The holding groove has an insertion opening opened in a direction intersecting with an axial direction of the clamp body, and a side opening opened on at least one end side in the axial direction of the clamp body. A protrusion is provided on at least one of opposing inner surfaces of the holding groove. When the pair of grip pieces are inserted in the holding groove, the protrusion can be arranged inside a part of the slit located in the first grip piece.
