Implementations of an orifice plate configured to regulate a fluid flow are provided. An example orifice plate is configured to be positioned in a conduit and comprises a plurality of holes that extend through the orifice plate. The plurality of holes are arranged to form a criss-crossing pattern of spiral layouts configured to regulate a fluid flow passing therethrough. The number of clockwise spiral layouts is a Fibonacci number and the number of counter-clockwise spiral layouts is a Fibonacci number. In some implementations, each spiral layout is a logarithmic spiral. In some implementations, each hole of the plurality of holes is a contoured conical shape extending between an inlet and an outlet, the inlet is larger in diameter than the outlet.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPRESSING UNDESIRABLE TONES IN AN EXHAUST SYSTEM

Provided is a flow modification component for use with a muffler, which can be a Helmholtz resonator muffler, a side branch muffler, or a Y-pipe. The flow modification component includes a porous plate adapted for incorporation into a passage to a sound muffling portion connected to a through passage pipe of the muffler or Y-pipe. One or more openings are formed on the porous plate to allow low frequency acoustic waves to pass through into the passage to the sound muffling portion while reducing large-scale turbulent eddies that produce undesirable resonant tones within the aperture tube to small-scale turbulent eddies. The openings having sufficient porosity such that the resulting sound frequency is determined by size, shape, number, and spacing of the openings. The flow modification component can also include a dissipative material component in an internal port passage of the muffler to further reduce resonant tones.

FLOW RATE REGULATING FLUIDIC CONNECTOR BETWEEN TWO DUCTS
20220349504 · 2022-11-03 ·

A fluidic connector to connect two ducts of a system such as an air conditioning system. The connector includes at least one elastic material, and includes a duct surrounded by an adjustable clamping collar which, when tightened, serves to deform it to reduce the internal space of the duct. The clamping of the collar makes it possible to easily and quickly regulate the rate of flow in the ducts.

Hydraulic snubber insert for gas turbine engine and associated method of installation

The hydraulic snubber insert can have an elongated stem and at least one segment extending transversally from the stem, each segment having a size and shape mating a cross-sectional size and shape of the liquid carrying line, and at least one aperture, the insert being configured for the at least one segment to be pushable snugly into the liquid carrying line and pullable out from the liquid carrying line via the stem.

FLOW RESTRICTOR

A cooling system for a battery module, said cooling system including: at least one flow tube adapted to receive a cooling fluid, wherein a material of the at least one flow tube is a polymer-based material, and a member attached on an inner wall of at least a part of the at least one flow tube, wherein a material of the member is a metal, said member being sized such as to reduce the flow of the cooling fluid through the at least one flow tube to thereby achieve a balanced flow.

PSEUDOPLASTIC FLOW CONTROL DEVICE, METHOD AND SYSTEM

A flow control device including a flow passage defined by a structure, a material disposed at least partially within the flow passage, the material responsive to flow induced strain to alter flow of fluid through the passage. A method for controlling fluid flow through a passage including flowing a fluid in the passage, altering a pseudoplastic material disposed at least partially within the passage based upon a density of fluid flowing in the passage.

DAMPER DEVICE
