Controllably opening water supply line doors
Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for controllably opening water supply line doors. The controllably opening water supply line door can include a base that includes a first substantially planar piece of material; a door that can include a second substantially planar piece of material; and a hinge structure that can be joined to the base and the door. The hinge structure can include a hinge. The door can be configured to rotate about an axis formed by the hinge to create a passageway.
Conduit access
A conduit access includes a base plate, a sensor, a motor, and a pivoting door plate. The base plate includes a pivot joint, a pass-through, and a stop. The pivot joint is at an edge of the base plate and extends toward a backside of the base plate. The pass-through is in a center of the base plate. The stop is on a rim of the base plate. The stop has a raised thickness on a frontside of the base plate. The sensor is in the pivot joint to detect motion. The motor is coupled to the pivot joint on the backside of the base plate. The motor activates on detection at the sensor. The pivoting door plate is parallel to the base plate. The pivoting door plate is coupled to the motor through the pivot joint to pivot across the frontside of the base plate to cover the pass-through.
Automatic flow restrictor for a water distribution system
An automatic flow restrictor for a sprinkler head. The flow restrictor includes a first disk and a second disk. The first disk and the second disk move relative to each other so as to take a first orientation where water being pumped through a main line tubing member is free to pass through the flow restrictor and exit out the sprinkler head with little resistance to flow, and a second orientation where water is restricted from passing therethrough. The first disk includes a top surface and a bottom surface. The first disk further includes a plurality of apertures extending directly between the top surface and the bottom surface. The second disk includes a top surface and a bottom surface. The first disk further includes a plurality of apertures extending directly between the top surface and the bottom surface, wherein a fan blade is aligned with each of the plurality of apertures.
Actuation and valve mechanism
An arrangement for controlling and measuring flow. The arrangement includes a fluid control barrier and a flow-measuring apparatus upstream of the fluid control barrier. The fluid control barrier includes a pair of plates for opening and closing a pipe, and the plates are movable towards a center line of the pipe to open the pipe and produce a symmetrical flow profile for the flow-measuring apparatus.
ACTUATION AND VALVE MECHANISM
A cable drive device including an arcuate segment drive member and a cable drum having an axle to allow rotation of the cable drum. The cable drum has a cable affixed at either end of the arcuate section of the arcuate segment drive member and tautly wrapped around the cable drum. The cable drum is located between the ends of the arcuate section of the arcuate segment drive member to, in use, allow the arcuate segment drive member to be moved when the axle is rotated. The cable is located in a groove in the arcuate section and a part of the cable drum extends into the groove, and the cable drum and the arcuate segment drive member simulate a rack and pinion drive.
Flexible, foldable foreign material exclusion device
A foreign material exclusion device that is adapted to seal an area of a construction, such as a tube or pipe or other cavity, from foreign material or debris temporarily, wherein the device includes a cylindrical plug that has a plurality of resilient bodies for holding the device within a particular construction. The bodies are substantially planar, and semicylindrical in shape wherein two bodies are utilized. A flexible cover includes a first pouch which contains a first body therein and desirably a second pouch of the cover contains a second body therein, with the cover having a hinge between said first and second pouches. When the device is not in use, the bodies can be folded against one another in a closed position until they are inserted into a tube or pipe whereupon they can be opened to an open position and generally form a disk having a snug, fitted connection with a wall of the tube or pipe.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING A TETHER LINE DISPOSED IN A PRESSURIZED PIPE
Systems and methods are disclosed for protecting a tether line within a pressurized pipe. As the tether line is extended and retracted, portions of the tether line are prevented from directly engaging jagged profiles formed in the pressurized pipe.
EXHAUST PIPE SYSTEM
An exhaust pipe system for conducting exhaust gas from a combustion device to an exhaust system includes a first exhaust pipe with an inlet end and an outlet end, and a second exhaust pipe having a first line end and a second line end, wherein the inlet end of the first exhaust pipe is connectable to the first line end of the second exhaust pipe via a detachable coupling connection. A locking member is arranged to be movable between a closed position closing a passage and an open position opening the passage inside the first exhaust pipe. When the coupling connection is released, the locking member is automatically arranged in the closed position, and the second exhaust pipe has an actuating member which, when the coupling connection is established, urges the locking member into the open position.
