Threaded joint for an oil well pipe
Oil well pipe component comprising a threaded portion, at least part whereof is coated with a layer of a corrosion-inhibiting material, that has been applied to at least the part of the threaded portion of the oil well pipe component by means of a method comprising a cataphoresis step from an aqueous bath, said method comprisingproviding the oil well pipe component comprising a threaded portion; immersing at least part of the threaded portion of the pipe component in a cataphoresis bath comprising water and suspended particles of corrosion-inhibiting material, and provided with an anode and a cathode means, the pipe component being connected to the cathode means; inducing a current through the bath, in order to provide the corrosion-inhibiting material with a positive charge; depositing a layer of the positively charged corrosion-inhibiting material onto the pipe component; andremoving the immersed part of the pipe component with the layer of corrosion-inhibiting material from the cataphoresis bath and allowing the corrosion-inhibiting material to set.
Threaded connection for pipes and method for producing threaded connection for pipes
A threaded connection for pipes according to the present embodiment includes a pin, a box, and a ZnNi alloy plating layer. The pin has a pin contact surface that includes an external thread part. The box has a box contact surface that includes an internal thread part. The ZnNi alloy plating layer is disposed on or above at least one of the pin contact surface and the box contact surface. The ZnNi alloy plating layer contains graphite.
Composition for solid coating formation and tubular threaded joint
A composition for solid coating formation, includes a mixed solvent including water and a dipolar aprotic solvent, a powdery organic resin which is partially soluble at least in the dipolar aprotic solvent. The powdery organic resin is dissolved or dispersed in the mixed solvent.
Protector with a flexible gasket for the male or female end of a component of a threaded tubular connection
A protector for the male or female end of a threaded tubular connection for drilling or operating hydrocarbon wells, comprising a principal body, a first sealing gasket formed from a material which is less rigid than the material of the protector body and intended to make a seal with a surface of an end of the component, the principal body comprising a plurality of orifices through which the sealing gasket passes.
Threaded Connection for Steel Pipe
A threaded connection for steel pipe with improved sealing performance is provided. A threaded connection (1) includes a pin (10) and a box (20). The pin (10) includes a pin shoulder surface (11), a pin sealing surface (12) and a male thread (13). The box (20) includes a box shoulder surface (21), a box sealing surface (22) and a female thread (23). The male thread (13) and female thread (23) are constituted by wedge threads. When the connection has been made up, the pin shoulder surface (11) is in contact with the box shoulder surface (21), the stabbing flank and load flank of the male thread (13) are in contact with the stabbing flank and load flank, respectively, of the female thread (23), and the pin sealing surface (12) is in contact with the box sealing surface (22). The shoulder angle is 4 or larger. The shoulder angle is the angle formed by each of the shoulder surfaces (11, 21) with a plane perpendicular to the pipe axis (CL) when the connection is not made up.
SEALANT MATERIAL
A sealant material for sealing joints between male and female mating parts comprising: (a) an elongate flexible thread suitable for wrapping around at least one of the parts, and (b) a joint sealing composition comprising an anaerobically curable composition in solid form,
the flexible thread being coated with the anaerobically curable composition. This provides a reactive composition on the thread for sealing joints.
Threaded tubular element provided with a metallic anti-galling coating and a lubricant layer
The invention concerns a threaded portion of a tubular element for a threaded tubular connection having an axis of revolution, the portion comprising a threading extending over its outer or inner peripheral surface, and a first sealing surface on the peripheral surface, the first sealing surface being capable of producing metal-metal interference with a corresponding second sealing surface belonging to a complementary threaded portion. The threading and the first sealing surface are coated with a metallic anti-galling layer wherein zinc (Zn) is the major element by weight, the metallic anti-galling layer being at least partially coated with a lubricant layer comprising a resin and a dry solid lubricant powder dispersed in the resin.
WEDGE THREADFORM HAVING CREST TO ROOT THREAD COMPOUND RELIEF AREAS
A connection includes a first tubular member having a first screw threadform defined by a first plurality of crests, roots, and flanks, where each flank separates each crest from each root. The connection also includes a second tubular member having a second screw threadform defined by a second plurality of crests, roots, and flanks, where each flank separates each crest from each root. The crests and roots are substantially axial to the tubular members and the flanks are substantially radial to the tubular members. The first tubular member and the second tubular member are configured to connect when the first threadform engages with the second threadform. Thread compound relief spaces are formed between the first plurality of crests and the second plurality of roots and between the second plurality of crests and the first plurality of roots when the first and second tubular members connect.
Locking device
An aircraft pipe coupling includes a first pipe end and a second pipe end connected to each other by a fastener. A locking collar restricts the rotational movement of the first pipe end, the second pipe end, and the fastener with respect to one another. The locking collar includes a first engagement portion and a second engagement portion, one of the engagement portions includes a resiliently deformable engagement surface. The first engagement portion is located over and engaged with the fastener, and the second engagement portion is located over and engaged with the second pipe end.
Multilayered Corrosion and Anti-galling Coating for Threads and Wearable Materials
A multilayered corrosion and anti-galling coating for threads and wearable materials is a liner that can be superimposed onto the surface of a device in order to protect the surface from environmental hazards. To accomplish this, the coating has a base adhesive layer, an intermediary insulation layer, an interstitial adhesive layer, and a lubricating material layer. The base adhesive layer adheres to the device's surface thus enabling the coating to form a sealing liner. The intermediary insulation layer is positioned in between the base adhesive layer and the interstitial adhesive layer. As a result, the intermediary insulation layer prevents negative chemical interactions between the base adhesive layer and the interstitial adhesive layer. The lubricating material layer is super imposed onto the interstitial adhesive layer to provide a friction-reducing coating for the device's surface.
