Fluid transfer device and method that allows for sterile wet connections, allows the connection to be reversed, and allows the connection to be reconnected, while leaving the connectors sterile and reusable under pressure. In certain embodiments, the device includes a first member and a second member, the latter adapted to receive the former in locking engagement upon actuation of the device to create fluid communication between the two in a sterile manner. Each of the members include a door that when opened, allows the first member to be linearly displaced into the second member to allow fluid to be transferred. When fluid transfer is complete, the first member can be retracted from the second member, and the doors closed.

Connection system having a threaded nut

The present invention relates to a connection system for components through which fluid flows in medicine and medical equipment, comprising a male connection cone (6, 30) and a threaded nut (7) least partially surrounding the connection cone (6) and having an internal thread (9), for captively connecting the male connection cone (6, 30) to a female receptacle of an additional component through which fluid flows. The invention is characterised in that the threaded nut (7) has radially circumferential through-holes (10) at least in some sections in the axial section of the circumferential jacket of the threaded nut and webs (11, 11) are formed adjacent to the through-holes in the circumferential jacket, sections of the internal thread (9) being arranged on the inside of said webs in relation to the circumferential jacket. Furthermore, the invention also relates to the production of the connection system and to its use.

A medical instrument includes a first tube body and a second tube body joined to the first tube body by being inserted in the lumen of the first tube body. The second tube body is more rigid than the first tube body. The medical instrument includes a coating layer made of a biocompatible material disposed on the inner peripheral surfaces of the first and second tube bodies. The inner peripheral surface of the second tube body is radially inward of the inner peripheral surface of the first tube body to create a level difference portion. The thickness of the part of the coating layer which coats the level difference portion is larger than the thickness of the level difference portion.

HELICALLY WOUND TUBULAR STRUCTURES

A helically wound tubular structure is disclosed. The tubular structure has a first sheet metal helically wound about a longitudinal axis, a second sheet metal having voids disposed therein helically wound about the longitudinal axis and coaxially about the first sheet metal, and a third sheet metal helically wound about the longitudinal axis and coaxially about the first sheet metal and the second sheet metal.

An elongate tubular structure is disclosed. The elongate tubular structure has a first and second tubular structure wherein a first end of the first tubular structure is matingly and fasteningly engaged to a first end of the second tubular structure. The first and second tubular structures each have a first sheet metal having a machine direction being convolutely wound about a first longitudinal axis. The first sheet metal has a tail portion that is disposed upon and bonded to an immediately subjacent convolution of the first sheet metal to form the respective first and second tubular structures.
