SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING MOUNTS FOR RECEIVING OBJECTS AND COUPLING TO SURFACES
A mount for receiving a cylindrical element includes a retention assembly that retains the cylindrical element between the retention assembly and a base. The retention assembly includes arm segments extending from the base and retaining members disposed along at least one of the arm segments. The retaining members are separated from each other by a gap through which the cylindrical element is insertable. At least one of the arm segments or retaining members is resilient so that the gap is widened when that cylindrical element is pushed through the gap. The retaining members retain the cylindrical element between the retaining members and the base until force is applied to pull the cylindrical element back through the gap. A biasing member extends from, and is moveable relative to, the base to bias the cylindrical element against the retaining members while lacking sufficient force to push the cylindrical element through the gap.
SELF-SUSPENDED MONITOR
The present invention relates to monitors. In order to facilitate mounting a monitor, a suspendable monitor (10) is provided for a ceiling suspended monitor system. The suspendable monitor comprises a video display (12), a structural frame (14), and a system interface (16). The video display is mounted to a front surface (18) of the structural frame. The system interface is mounted to the structural frame at one end and mountable to the ceiling suspended monitor system at the other end for suspending the suspendable monitor.
ARRANGEMENT AND A METHOD FOR INSERTING AND REMOVING A HEAD OF A MEASURING DEVICE TO AND FROM A PROCESS SPACE
An arrangement and method are disclosed for inserting and removing a head of a measuring device to and from a process space. The arrangement includes a measuring device with a measuring head and a retractor tool connected to a valve member. The retractor tool includes rails, a cradle for receiving the measuring device and arranged to slide along the rails, and a driving mechanism for moving the cradle. A valve lock mechanism prevents opening of the valve member if the measuring device is not at a location barring a fluid flow from the process space, and the head of the measuring device is insertable to the process space when the measuring device is received in the cradle.
Display apparatus
A display apparatus includes a display assembly, and a mounting device on which the display assembly is supported. The mounting device may include a stand having a supporting boss, a rail disposed on a rear surface of the display assembly, and configured to move the display assembly in a straight line direction with respect to the supporting boss, and a rotation guide disposed at an end of the rail such that the display assembly rotates with respect to the supporting boss, wherein the display assembly is rotatable when the supporting boss is positioned on the rotation guide.
Telescopic arm with a push-pull chain drive
The invention relates to a telescopic arm (1), in particular, for a current collector system for a vehicle which can be driven along a power rail arrangement, wherein the telescopic arm (1) can be extended and/or retracted by means of an adjustment drive (7, 8, 9, 10) and the telescopic arm (1) has a base unit (2) which can be attached to the vehicle, on which a first telescopic stage (3) is arranged displaceably in a direction (R.sub.T), in particular, horizontally, and a second telescopic stage (4) is arranged displaceably on the first telescopic stage (3) in the same direction (R.sub.T), wherein the adjustment drive (7, 8, 9, 10) is arranged on the first telescopic stage (3), characterized in that the adjustment drive (7, 8, 9, 10) interacts with a rigid chain (S), which is connected with its one end (S.sub.a) to the base unit (2) and with its other end (S.sub.b) to the second telescopic stage (4).
Rotary evaporator
The invention relates to a rotary evaporator (1), including an equipment stand (2) with a protruding guide tower (3) which has a holder on which an evaporation vessel (5) is pivotably retained about a horizontal pivot axis (42). In one embodiment of the invention, the holder includes a holding part connected to the guide tower, wherein a carrying part (43) that can be connected to the evaporation vessel (5) is pivotably retained about a horizontal pivot axis on the holding part, and a spindle drive (44), which includes an adjustment spindle (45) with a self-locking spindle thread (46), is provided to adjust and secure the selected pivot position.
Positioning Apparatus for Photographic and Video Imaging and Recording and System Utilizing the Same
A method and device are provided for positioning a mounted camera. The device includes a holding element that secures the mounted camera to the device, a wireless linkage at which remote attitude commands representing attitude changes of a remote driver are received, a local controller that interprets the remote attitude commands and generates local attitude commands that move the camera to mimic an orientation of the remote driver, and an attitude sensing element that senses a local attitude of the device. The attitude sensing element includes a gyro, an accelerometer, or a magnetometer, and jitter present in the remote attitude commands is removed and not passed on to the local attitude commands.
Control system for an aerially moved payload
A system for transmitting data, images, and audio to and from an aerially moved payload, the system having one or more media converters for converting coax signals to fiber signals and at least two wave division multiplexers, one for combining two or more distinct fiber signals into a single fiber signal and one for splitting the two or more combined fiber signals back into two distinct fiber signals. The system also includes at least one line along which one or more of data, images, and audio may be transmitted to and from the aerially moved payload.
Board for projector
A board 2 for a projector includes a movable arm 5 for moving a projector 1 to a use position in front of a projection board 3 and to a storage position above the projection board and a cam mechanism 6 for elevating the movable arm 5 while swinging it. By elevation of the movable arm 5 by the cam mechanism 6, when the projector is positioned at the storage position, a body portion of the projector is positioned above an upper edge portion of the projection board, while when the projector is positioned at the use position, the body portion is positioned below the upper edge portion of the projection board. Even a projector with a short focal distance can be moved to the storage position and to the use position.
BUILDING ENVELOPE ACCESS SYSTEM
System 1 for positioning a functional platform 5 at an elevated position relative to external walls of a building 2, such as to allow surveying or maintaining the building 2. The system 1 includes an elongate, flexible element 10, a carriage 4 mountable to the flexible element 10 and operable to move along the flexible element 10, the carriage 4 configured to suspend the functional platform 5 operatively below the carriage 4, and a pair of support assemblies 6. Each support assembly 6 includes a mount 14 configured to be fixed to the building 2 to define a position axis 7, and an elongate support member 13 configured to connect to the mount 14 to be rotatable about the position axis, the support member 13 defining a free end 11 configured to support the flexible element 10. The system 1 also includes a retraction mechanism engageable with the flexible element 10 and operable to retract and tension the flexible element 10 between the support members 13.
