An annular slinger is arranged on an outer circumferential surface of at least one of opposite axial ends of the shaft, which protrudes from the float bearing. The bearing housing defines an oil discharge space surrounding the slinger externally in a radial direction. The bearing housing includes a guide wall protruding from an inner wall surface of the oil discharge space. The guide wall is configured to guide oil in the oil discharge space toward the oil discharge port.

A lubricant collecting device including a lubricant guide and a lubricant container, where the lubricant guide has an outer surface for guiding a first medium and an inner surface for guiding a second medium, and also includes a gap that forms an inlet for the first medium.

A turbocharger assembly can include a shaft having a rotational axis where the shaft includes a turbine wheel that includes a hub portion; a bearing that includes an outer race, an inner race operatively coupled to the shaft, and rolling elements disposed between the inner race and the outer race where an inner radius of the outer race and an outer radius of the inner race define a radial gap; and a lubricant slinger disposed axially between the inner race and the hub portion of the turbine wheel where the lubricant slinger includes a surface that faces and slopes away from the radial gap.
