Pipe containment system for ships with spacing guide
An assembly for storing and transporting compressed fluid, such as compressed natural gas, that includes a plurality of hexagonally stacked pipe stored in a cargo hold in or on a vessel, that includes a lower support, side supports and a forcing mechanism that presses strongly down on the pipes so that they cannot move relative to themselves or the vessel on which they are placed. The friction between the pipes causes the plurality of pipes to act as part of the vessel in terms of its structure. The stacked pipe is supported by a plurality of spacers, such as convex side up pipe segments for maintaining a gap between adjacent ones of said plurality of pipes in a same row in said stacked pipe. A load equalizer may be located above the plurality of pipes for distributing the compressive force from the forcing mechanism.
Compressed Gas Container
A compressed gas container is disclosed. The compressed gas container has a single one-piece casing surrounding a storage volume and includes a matrix material and reinforcing fibers. The composition of the matrix material between the region of the single one-piece casing facing the storage volume and the region of the single one-piece casing facing the surroundings of the single one-piece casing changes at least once. A method for manufacturing a compressed gas container is also disclosed.
HONEYCOMB STRUCTURAL HIGH-PRESSURE SET TANK AND A MANUFACTURING PROCESS THEREFOR
The present invention is directed to a new concept for a large-scale high-pressure Honeycomb Set Tank in an ISO container and for its manufacturing facilities. A process for manufacturing a plurality of honeycomb cells with a high degree of accuracy is also provided.
Gas storage structure and method of manufacture
A gas storage structure includes: a container and a continuous coiled pipe supported by the container, the continuous coiled pipe including a major portion formed of thin walled pipe and a thick walled pipe defining an end of the continuous coiled pipe, the thick walled pipe having a wall thickness thicker than the thin walled pipe, the thick walled pipe being welded at a welded joint to the major portion to place an inner diameter of the thick walled pipe into communication with an inner diameter of the major portion and the thick walled pipe being connected to the container, while the major portion is free of any rigid, such as welded, connections to the container.
Method for Producing a Barrier Layer of a Pressure Vessel, and Pressure Vessel
A method of producing a barrier layer of a pressure vessel includes applying the barrier layer to a liner and/or to a fiber-reinforced layer of the pressure vessel while a pressure difference between the internal volume and the surroundings of the pressure vessel is being maintained.
HYDROGEN FUEL STORAGE AND DELIVERY SYSTEM
A fuel delivery and storage system is provided. A further aspect employs a remote central controller and/or software instructions which receive sensor data from stationary and bulk fuel storage tanks, portable distribution tanks, and end use tanks. Another aspect of the present system senses and transmits tank or hydrogen fuel characteristics including temperature, pressure, filled volume, contaminants, refilling cycle life and environmental hazards. Still another aspect includes a group of hydrogen fuel tanks which is pre-assembled with sensor, valve, microprocessor and transmitter components, at least some of which are within an insulator.
METHODS OF PREVENTING FAILURE OF CORRUGATED TUBE IN TYPE IV PRESSURE VESSELS
A pressure vessel and a method of manufacturing the pressure vessel is provided that reduces leaks in type IV pressure vessels having a liner with a corrugated section. The method includes providing a liner having a tubular portion having a corrugated section with circumferential corrugations providing alternating ridges and grooves arranged from one end to an opposing end of the corrugated section, applying a barrier to an outer surface of the corrugated section from one end to an opposing end of the corrugated section such that air voids are formed in annular cavities between the liner and the barrier; and applying resin to an outer surface of the barrier. The barrier prevents intrusion of the resin between the barrier and the liner in the corrugated section.
BEARING SYSTEM FOR CONFORMABLE TANKS
A pressure vessel includes an outer shell and pressurized elements disposed within the outer shell that contains a pressurized gas. The pressure vessel includes a bearing system disposed between the pressurized elements and the outer shell, and the bearing system allows controlled movement of the pressurized elements in respect to the outer shell.
MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRESSED GAS TANK
A method for producing a compressed gas tank for a motor vehicle includes inserting a bundle of heat-conducting elements through an opening in a housing of the compressed gas tank and exerting a force on the bundle that radially expands the bundle within the housing beyond the size of the opening. The heat-conducting elements may be helically wound about a central axis when inserted through the opening with a torsional force applied to unwind the elements while radially expanding and reducing axial length of the bundle. A compressed gas tank for a motor vehicle includes a plurality of heat-conducting elements including at least one tube within a tank housing that extend axially along the tank and radially within the housing to a size exceeding an opening of the housing. The tube is configured to circulate coolant to cool compressed gas within the tank.
Mobile hydrogen storage, transportation, and refueling system and method of using the same
An apparatus for mobile hydrogen refueling includes a heavy equipment vehicle having a size exceeding highway size constraints and a platform coupled to the vehicle. A hydrogen storage module and a compression module are removably coupleable to the platform. The storage module is configured to store a number of hydrogen tanks. The compression module is configured to compress a flow of hydrogen from a hydrogen tank in the storage module via a manifold to produce a flow of high-pressure hydrogen. A refueling interface is configured to engage a refueling interface of a hydrogen powerplant and to selectively convey a flow of high-pressure hydrogen from the compression module. In some implementations, the compression module can include a chiller configured to cool the high-pressure hydrogen provided to the refueling interface. In some implementations, a power module is configured to provide electric power to at least the compression module and/or the vehicle.
