Transport of Natural Gas Through solution in Liquid Hydrocarbon at Ambient Temperature
20180038549 · 2018-02-08 ·

A method of transporting natural gas by liquefaction of natural gas at ambient temperature, achieved by mixing the natural gas at high pressure with a hydrocarbon that is a stable liquid at ambient temperature and ambient pressure. The hydrocarbon liquid may be crude oil or a distillate of crude oil. The method includes: liquefaction: mixing the natural gas with the hydrocarbon liquid at an ambient temperature and a high pressure to generate a liquid mixture, which contains the natural gas dissolved in the hydrocarbon liquid; shipping: transporting the liquid mixture using a marine tanker, during which the liquid mixture is maintained at ambient temperature and the high pressure; and regasification: at the destination, releasing a gas from the liquid mixture by lowering the pressure of the liquid mixture. The hydrocarbon liquid may be used multiple times.

GAS-FILLED VESSEL FILLED WITH FLUORINATED HYDROCARBON COMPOUND

The present invention is a fluorohydrocarbon compound-filled gas container obtained by filling a gas container with a fluorohydrocarbon compound, the gas container being made of manganese steel, an amount of aluminum adhering to an inner surface of the gas container as measured by XPS analysis being 1 mol % or less, and the fluorohydrocarbon compound being a compound represented by C.sub.4H.sub.9F or C.sub.5H.sub.11F. The present invention provides a fluorohydrocarbon compound-filled gas container that is obtained by filling a gas container with a fluorohydrocarbon compound represented by C.sub.4H.sub.9F or C.sub.5H.sub.11F, and suppresses or reduces a decrease in the purity of the fluorohydrocarbon compound with which the gas container is filled.

COMPOSITE LPG TANK TRAILER

A tank trailer has a container formed from a tubular body and one or more polar bosses coupled to distal ends of the tubular body. The trailer includes a pumping system that has one or more pipes fluidly coupled to the interior of the container via an interface at one of the polar bosses. The tank trailer may have a base support and one or more circumferential support members coupling the base support to the composite container, or the support functionality of the base may be instead accomplished by the container. The one or more polar bosses may include an inner circular surface and an outer circular surface, wherein the outer circular surface has one or more flat portions that complement and engage one or more concave features of the substantially tubular body.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR STORING AND PROCESSING HYDROCARBONS

A system for both housing hydrocarbons in both liquid and gaseous forms has a body configured to withstand both storage related internal pressures as well as processing related vacuum pressures. A method includes receiving hydrocarbons into a body configured to withstand both storage related internal pressures as well as processing related vacuum pressures.

The present invention relates to a fuel oil theft prevention tool configured to prevent theft or siphoning of fuel oil from a fuel tank. The tool is compact and lightweight and includes a metal femalefemale reduced coupling, a heavy-duty metal screen having a plurality of holes disposed therein, the screen is positioned inside the reduced coupling and is secured/biased and held tight by a torsional spring, a malefemale hex bushing having a hexagonal head is positioned inside the reduced coupling over the screen for further securing of the screen. The tool is positioned between the fuel delivery pipe and the supply pipe and is configured to allow flow of fuel oil in only one direction.

Method And Apparatus For Supplying A Gaseous Fuel To An Internal Combustion Engine

A method for supplying gaseous fuel from a tender car to an internal combustion engine on a locomotive comprising storing the gaseous fuel at a cryogenic temperature in a cryogenic storage tank on the tender car; pumping the gaseous fuel to a first pressure from the cryogenic storage tank; vaporizing the gaseous fuel at the first pressure; and conveying the vaporized gaseous fuel to the internal combustion engine; whereby a pressure of the vaporized gaseous fuel is within a range between 310 bar and 575 bar.

SAFETY ARRANGEMENT FOR A VEHICLE TANK
20170144535 · 2017-05-25 · ·

A safety arrangement for a DME fuel tank of a vehicle, adapted to release an excessive pressure from the fuel tank, including a spring-loaded pressure release valve adapted to open at a predefined pressure level, where the safety arrangement further includes a housing mounted on the fuel tank and having an outer opening closed by a lid, where the pressure release valve is arranged in the housing and where the housing is provided with an outlet pipe having an outlet opening, and where the lid is adapted to melt at a predefined temperature, thereby allowing gas to exit the pressure release valve through the outer opening of the housing when the pressure release valve is open and the lid has melted. A small gas leakage caused by an excessive pressure can be discharged downwards through the outlet pipe and outlet opening towards the ground, and a large gas leakage, caused by e.g. a fire, can be discharged outwards from the fuel tank, away from the fire.

System and method for loading, storing and offloading natural gas from ships

A system for loading and storing CNG onboard of a ship and for unloading it therefrom comprises CNG loading facilities for loading CNG on board of the ship, CNG storage facilities for storing the loaded CNG on board of the ship at nominal storage pressure and temperature, and CNG unloading facilities for unloading CNG to a delivery point. The delivery point requires the unloaded CNG to be at delivery pressure and temperature generally different from the storage pressure and temperature. Thus, the CNG unloading facilities comprise a CNG heater for heating the to-be-unloaded CNG prior to unloading, and a lamination valve for allowing the to-be-unloaded CNG to expand from its storage pressure to the delivery pressure. A compressor may also be provided to compress CNG that would not otherwise be spontaneously delivered.
