Method and machine for pitting and re-pitting fruit halves
A method for pitting and re-pitting fruit halves, in particular peach halves, has steps of lifting fruit halves from a loading area to a feeding zone, feeding the fruit halves to an advancing lane, moving the fruit halves forward, detecting the supporting condition of each fruit half and a presence of pit or pit fragments, if any, assessing the supporting condition as correct or incorrect, communicating the presence of pit or pit fragments, if any, in the fruit half, pit removing, if any, delivering the fruit halves to their further treatment or bringing them back to the step of lifting the fruit halves, in case their supporting condition is assessed as incorrect. There is shown a multi-lane machine having a detecting station (9), a control unit (10), communication means for sending information to a cutting station (8) and to a separating station (13) for delivering the fruit halves to their further treatment or to the loading area of the machine.

Machine for recognizing and orienting fruits and method
A machine and method for recognizing and orienting fruits, especially peaches, for their automatic pitting, the machine has a fruit flight conveyor (1) up to a cutting station (6) in which a vertical cutting plane is provided, the fruit flights (4) being shaped with a number of recesses (7) in which fruits (P) are positioned with fruit suture plane thereof, containing a suture line (ls), being arranged vertically. A fruit recognizing station (8) is suitable to detect the position of the vertical suture plane, and to calculate an angle (?) between the suture line (ls) and the cutting line (lt), or to communicate information of non-detection. An orientation station (16) is adapted to receive information on the dihedral angle, and to control a respective gripping unit (17) to grip and rotate a fruit to a final position, or to remove from the fruit lane.

PRESSURIZED STEAM PITTING APPARATUS AND PROCESS
In accordance with the teachings of the disclosure, a process is disclosed for pitting drupes. In some embodiments of a pitting process, the pitting machine uses a pitting knife that has a longitudinal passageway that extends axially through the pitting knife. The pitting machine has a steam source that provides pressurized steam to the passageway of the pitting knife. Prior to pitting the drupe, the pressurized steam flows through the passageway and onto a portion of a drupe positioned within a carrier in the pitting machine. The heat and pressure of the steam between the drupe and the cutting end of the cutting knife can soften a localized portion of the drupe so that the cutting knife can cut through the flesh of the drupe and eject the pit out of the opposite side of the drupe.

Pitting And Cutting Process Of Fruit, In Particular Peaches, And The Corresponding Cutting Blades And Multi-Lane Machine
A pitting and cutting process for fruit, in particular peaches, involves the coplanar insertion, inside each fruit, of right and left upper and lower cutting blades, reciprocally horizontally separating the blades, inserting in the fruit an upper and lower pitting knife, rotating the pitting knives around the pit, vertically displacing downward both the upper cutting blades and the lower cutting blades to complete the cutting of the fruit, returning the right and left upper cutting blades and the lower cutting blades, still in reciprocal horizontal separation, and reciprocally horizontally approaching the right and left upper cutting blades and the right and left lower cutting blades for repeating the process. The related machine is also described.
