Compressed gas filling method and system
A method of filling a storage vessel with a fuel gas at a fuel dispenser. In various embodiments, the method includes providing a fuel dispenser comprising a housing defining a fluid flow path therein, the fluid flow path operatively connected with a source of the fuel gas. The fuel dispenser includes a control valve disposed along the fluid flow path and a controller in operative electronic communication therewith. The method also includes actuating the control valve to provide a predetermined difference between the pressure of the fuel gas upstream of the control valve and the pressure of the fuel gas downstream of the control valve. The predetermined difference is selected such that the temperature of the fuel gas is reduced to a predetermined temperature after passing through the control valve. The method also includes dispensing the fuel gas into the storage vessel, the fuel gas having first mass flow rate.
OVERFILL PROTECTION MEANS
An overfill protection means for storing liquefied gases in a tank container, comprising a housing into which the filling line runs for filling the tank container, a closure which is arranged so as to be movable between a closing position preventing filling and an open position releasing filling, and a float, which float is coupled to a trigger mechanism. The trigger mechanism is movable by the float between an engaged position and a release position depending on the liquid level in the tank container, wherein, in the engaged position, the trigger mechanism engages the closure and keeps the closure in the open position, while being supported on the housing, and wherein, in the release position, the trigger mechanism releases the closure, whereby the closure is movable into the closing position by the flowing liquefied gas.
Storage tank with pressure actuated fill termination assembly
Gas pressure actuated fill termination valves for cryogenic liquid storage tanks and storage tanks containing the same.
Method of refueling a hydrogen vehicle
A method of refueling a tank of a vehicle with a hydrogen gas from a hydrogen refueling station, including initiating flow of hydrogen gas in a hose being controlled by a controller controlling a valve, opening the valve and monitoring the temperature and pressure of the hydrogen gas in tank, based on the monitored temperature and the monitored pressure establishing an estimated state of charge during the refueling, terminating the refueling when the estimated state of charge reaches an upper state of charge being above the tank rated density, the upper state of charge being determined on the basis of a pre-estimated correction of state of charge, the pre-estimated correction of state of charge designating a decrease of the estimated state of charge in the vehicle tank after the closing of the valve disconnecting the hose between the vehicle tank and the hydrogen source.
Method and device for determining the filling mass of a cryogenically stored gas in a container
A method for determining a filling mass in a thermally insulated container for a cryogenically stored gas includes determining the filling mass using a known container volume and a calculated density of the gas content of the container. A temperature sensor is used for measuring a mixing temperature of liquid and gaseous phases, where the liquid phase is extracted via a first extraction supply line at the geodetically lowest point, and the gaseous phase is extracted via a second extraction supply line at the geodetically highest point. Downstream of the extraction points, after a convergence of the first and the second extraction supply line, the temperature sensor is placed where a complete and thorough mixing of the liquid and the gaseous phase of the gas from the first and second extraction supply line has already taken place.
Hydrogen filling method for fuel cell vehicle
A hydrogen filling method for a fuel cell vehicle includes filling a hydrogen tank of the fuel cell vehicle with hydrogen using a hydrogen dispenser by sequentially using a low-pressure storage tank of the fuel cell vehicle, a medium-pressure storage tank of the fuel cell vehicle, and a high-pressure storage tank of the fuel cell vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REFUELING A VEHICLE TANK WITH LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM (LP) GAS
A vehicle has a fuel system that includes a controller that determines when the vehicle is in a refuel mode or a run mode based on a connection of a refuel nozzle to a vehicle connection of the vehicle. The controller controls a fuel pump input selector, a vehicle fuel pump, and a fill/run fuel selector such that fuel is pumped from a storage tank external to the vehicle into a vehicle fuel tank by way of the vehicle fuel pump in the refuel mode, and fuel is pumped to an engine of the vehicle from the vehicle fuel tank by way of the vehicle fuel pump in the run mode.
Gas filling apparatus
To provide a gas filling apparatus with high handleability and safety. A gas filling apparatus including: a filling mechanism for carrying a gas through gas carrying pipes while measuring flow rate of the gas from a gas supply source (accumulator); a filling hose connected to the gas carrying pipe and having a filling nozzle at an end of the filling hose; and an attachment sensor (nozzle attachment detecting portion) for outputting a detection signal after detecting that the filling nozzle is attached to a filling port of an in-vehicle tank, wherein filling gas to the in-vehicle tank by the filling mechanism becomes possible after the detection signal is inputted to the filling mechanism from the attachment sensor. The gas filling apparatus may further include: a pressure gauge for measuring a pressure in the in-vehicle tank; a thermometer for measuring ambient temperature; and a target pressure calculating means (comparing means) for calculating a pressure in the in-vehicle tank when filling up the in-vehicle tank or filling preset amount of the gas is finished before filling gas to the in-vehicle tank based on a capacity of the in-vehicle tank and the measured pressure in the in-vehicle tank and the measured ambient temperature; wherein the filling mechanism stops carrying the gas to the in-vehicle tank when the pressure in the in-vehicle tank reaches the target pressure.
Fuel filling system and fuel filling method thereof
The present invention provides a fuel filling system and a fuel filling method thereof that can determine the validity of information transmitted from a vehicle side while filling fuel with high accuracy. A hydrogen gas filling method of a hydrogen filling system includes: a step of filling hydrogen gas from a hydrogen station to a hydrogen tank under a predetermined filling control law (S2); and a determination step of determining whether a measurement error parameter corresponding to a difference between a filling amount of hydrogen gas calculated using information transmitted from the vehicle side and a filling amount of hydrogen gas calculated using a mass flow meter is within a predetermined permissible range (S9). In the filling step, the filling control law is changed after starting the filling of hydrogen gas, according to a determination result obtained in the determination step (S13 and S16).
