Provided is a portable cylinder including a tank having an upper portion having a valve port, a mounting collar coupled to the upper portion of the tank, and a handle attached to the mounting collar. The mounting collar has an upwardly extending portion surrounding the valve port and a plurality of circumferentially spaced tabs extending radially outwardly from the upwardly extending portion, wherein a respective gap is formed between adjacent ones of the plurality of circumferentially spaced tabs. The handle includes a shroud portion including a plurality of circumferentially spaced ledges for abutting an underside of a respective one of the plurality of circumferentially spaced tabs, and at least one tab for engaging the mounting collar in one of the gaps, and a handle portion extending from the shroud portion and having one or more areas for grasping the handle.

FLOW-BLOCKING SAFETY VALVE TO PREVENT EXPLOSION OF PORTABLE GAS CONTAINER
20210310575 · 2021-10-07 ·

There is provided a flow-blocking safety valve to prevent an explosion of a portable gas container, wherein, when the portable gas container overheats during use and the temperature rises above a predetermined level, a bridge hold supporting a pin of the safety valve melts and thus a pin or ball securely supported in the bridge holder becomes free to move to close a flow channel through which the gas flows, thereby blocking the gas discharge and preventing an accident occurring when the gas container bursts by overheating.

Fuel transfer adapters

A fuel transfer adapter for a fuel cartridge, the fuel transfer adapter comprising: an adapter body; at least one fuel filling channel through said adapter body for the passage of fuel from a valve of the fuel cartridge to a fuel tank of an appliance through a filling port of said fuel tank; a fuel cartridge engaging portion at one end of the adapter body, for engaging the adapter body with the valve of the fuel cartridge; and, a port engaging portion at the other end of the adapter body for releasably engaging with the filling port, whereby the fuel transfer adapter incorporates at least one vent for the passage of vapour from the fuel tank to the atmosphere, said at least one vent being configured, in use, to transfer vapour displaced from the fuel tank by the fuel entering therein to the atmosphere. A method of filling a fuel tank of an appliance comprising the steps of: docking a fuel cartridge equipped with a fuel transfer adapter to a filling port of an appliance; applying a push force between the appliance and the fuel cartridge to open both a port filling valve and a fuel cartridge valve; applying a further push force between the appliance and the cartridge to create a fluid-tight seal between a compliant rim of the fuel transfer adapter and the filling port, and to create a fluid-tight seal between the sealing lip of a port engaging portion of the fuel transfer adapter and a wall of the filling port; allowing fuel to transfer from the fuel cartridge to the fuel tank of the appliance, and displaced vapour to transfer from the fuel tank to the atmosphere through a vent in the fuel transfer adapter; and, undocking the fuel cartridge from the filling port.

Check valve and assembly for fluid storage container
10989360 · 2021-04-27 · ·

A check valve assembly includes a valve, cam and arm with float rotatably connected to the valve for insertion into a fluid storage container for filling of the container without overfilling. The valve includes a channel of narrowing diameter and restricting member movably retained within the channel. One end of the restricting member rides along the cam profile as the arm rotates the cam with the changing fluid levels. When the fluid reaches maximum fill level, the restricting member contacting the cam drops into the cam valley, driving the restricting member head into engagement with the channel neck walls and automatically sealing off the valve. First and second biasing members are disposed in the channel, preferably around the stem, and collectively provide counter force sufficient to overcome the frictional forces of the seal to open valve and move the restricting member upward.
