Lighting assembly
In one example, a lighting assembly includes a housing to hold an elongated lamp and an elongated device attached to or integral with the housing and configured to, when an lamp is held in the housing, convert light from the lamp having a first irradiance that is non-uniform along a length into light having a second irradiance that is uniform along the length.
LED LIGHTING SYSTEM AND INSTALLATION METHODS
A lighting system includes an LED downlight mountable to a ceiling, a driver, and an insulation displacement connector (IDC). Light from the downlight can be faced downward to project light or upward to reflect light off of the ceiling. The driver has an input with a first voltage and an output with a second voltage, the second voltage being lower than the first and being provided through a wire system extending from the LED driver. The IDC connects the downlight to the wire system. The lighting system can be changed from a first to a second configuration by at least one of adding an additional downlight using a corresponding IDC or removing an existing downlight using a corresponding IDC. The second configuration does not significantly affect a desired output range of light from any downlight or any LED circuit of any downlight that remains or preexists from the first configuration.
INDOOR LIGHTING APPARATUS INCLUDING ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT SOURCE
An overhead lighting fixture containing both visible light sources and UV light sources is disclosed herein. UV light can sanitize/disinfect the surrounding environment after the environment over a period of about 30-45 minutes. In this way, viruses, germs, bacteria, mold, and the like can be destroyed to clean the air and/or surfaces (e.g., furniture). Accordingly, embodiments of the present invention provide a controllable UV lighting assembly that can produce UV light to sanitize/disinfect an area and can be automatically disabled to prevent UV light exposure to those in the area using a motion sensor. The lighting assembly can produce visible light while the UV light source is disabled. According to some embodiments, the duration of UV light production is controlled by a timer for power savings.
Asymmetric linear LED luminaire design for uniform illuminance and color
An LED lamp for illuminating a surface under a flat angle in linear lighting applications such as cove lighting and wall washing is provided. It produces a uniform intensity distribution and a uniform color output throughout the beam pattern of the light beam produced by a multi-color LED light source. The lamp comprises a body of an extruded profile. The body comprises at least one section with a mirrored surface and at least a lens section which allows exiting of light from the body. At least one LED preferably having a LED lens is provided at the inner side of the body. This combination of optical systems results in an asymmetric beam pattern from the source.
CONNECTOR SYSTEM FOR LIGHTING ASSEMBLY
An elongate tubular lighting assembly having a body with a length between spaced first and second ends. The tubular lighting assembly has a source of illumination and first and second connectors respectively at the first and second body ends. The first connector has cooperating first and second parts having first and second surfaces. The first and second connector parts are configured so that the first and second surfaces are placed in confronting relationship to prevent separation of the first and second connector parts with the body in an operative state as an incident of the first connector part moving relative to the second connector part from a position fully separated from the second connector part in a substantially straight path that is transverse to the length of the body into an engaged position.
DUO LED LIGHT FIXTURE WITH A DOWNLIGHT SOURCE AND AN OPTIONALLY OPERABLE UPPER LIGHT SOURCE
A dual LED light fixture is comprised by a lower LED light source housing and an upper LED light source housing. A lower LED light source is mounted in the lower light source housing to generate downlight. An upper LED light source is mounted in the upper LED light source housing and remote from an outer circumferential light transmitting outer side area of the upper light source housing and from which is emitted side light illumination. An LED power supply and light control circuit mounted in the LED light fixture and adapted for connection to a power source. The LED light power supply and control circuit has a dimming circuit and a lower and upper driver current supply circuit. A switch is operative to connect driver current to the upper LED light source when actuated to an “on” position and to disconnect driver current to the upper LED light source when in a normal “off” position. The switch is operative for engagement to its “on” position when desirable to provide drive current to the upper light source and illumination from both the lower and upper LED light sources of the LED light fixture. Various embodiments of the LED light fixture is described.
Illuminating assembly
JOINT ASSEMBLY FOR LUMINAIRES
A joint assembly for luminaires is provided. The joint assembly includes a pin having at least one pin section with an upper opening, a side opening, and a bore connecting the upper opening and the side opening. The upper opening is configured to receive at least one power cable to feed through the bore and out the side opening. The joint assembly also includes a primary hinge having a primary vertical base and a plurality of primary knuckles extending from the vertical base, wherein a distal portion of the knuckles has a hole for engaging the pin. The joint assembly also includes at least one secondary hinge having a secondary vertical base and a plurality of secondary knuckles extending from the vertical base, wherein a distal portion of the knuckles has a hole for engaging the pin.
Configurable modular lighting system
A system and method for providing robust, configurable lighting includes electrical boxes interconnected by conduit through selected knockout openings. A cover plate includes multiple rectangular openings oriented if different fashions. The openings are configured to receive and secure a base of tubular lighting element to the cover plate. Wiring is passed through the conduit into the boxes, and a connection is made to the lighting element through a secured base and associated opening.
