A high lumen output flashlight includes a flashlight head at a first end of the flashlight and a power assembly at a second end of the flashlight. The power assembly includes power management module body member with a pivotally mounted cover selectively covering a recess formed in a second end of the power management module body member. An O-ring is positioned between the pivotally mounted cover and the power management module body member in a manner providing waterproof or water resistant protection. A central body member is positioned between the flashlight head and the power assembly. The flashlight head includes an outer body member secured to a first end of the central body member and an LED light assembly is positioned within the outer body member. The outer body member includes a plastic heat insulating ring.

In some aspects of the disclosure, an attachable lighting device has a lighting assembly which includes a light housing, an attaching base, and one or more optical sources. The light housing is attached to the top of the attaching base and contains the one or more optical sources. The attachable lighting device has a receiving base which is attachable to an attachment surface of a boat. The attaching base is attachable to the receiving base.

One or more colored films selectively change the color of the displayed light from one or more mobile devices to enable crowd participation is a multi-colored light show at public gatherings. The ability to change the color of a mobile device flash may also be useful for providing identification at a distance in low light conditions.

A lighting system for surface inspection includes an elongated substrate onto which a linear array of lights is mounted to provide extended light coverage. The lights may be dimmable and controlled by a circuit board to reduce veiling glare. A heat sink may disperse heat built up from the linear array of lights. A handle and articulated drop-in pin may provide means to focus all the lights in the same direction and point the lights onto a surface using a single hand or during hands-free use.

An optical system and luminaire are provided. The optical system includes first and second lighting effect assemblies. Each lighting effect assemblies include an effect selector and a lighting effect insert rotatably coupled thereto. Each effect selector positions its lighting effect insert in a light beam. The lighting effect inserts include a prism with a rear surface and a front side having a first plurality of facets. The rear surface has a plurality of regions aligned with corresponding facets. The regions are color filters. Some lighting effect inserts are an effects plate and a prism, where the effects plate has color filter regions. The effects plate and the prism may be separately rotatable at desired speeds and/or directions. Some lighting effect inserts are a prism with color filter regions on the facets.

A shade for removable attachment to a headlamp assembly having a headlamp connected to a head-strap where the shade is formed from first and second flexible, translucent wall panels which may lay flat against each other when not in use. The shade includes notches formed in each wall panel to which the segments of the head-strap located on either side of the headlamp may be removably connected. The headlamp assembly and shade when connected together may be suspended from a fixed point or placed upon a flat surface thereby creating a hands-free lantern.

An illuminated walking assistance apparatus is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the apparatus provides an elongated staff having a ground-engaging tip portion at a first end and a handle at an opposing second end. The staff provides a light pipe positioned proximal the tip portion and having a light-emitting member disposed therein to selectively illuminate the ground proximal the tip portion.
