Surgical lamp with brightness regulation

The invention relates to a surgical lamp for illuminating an operating area, including: a number of individual lamps which, in an activated state, form a light beam bundle generating a light field region in an illumination plane wherein a total light field is formed, a brightness detection device to determine an actual brightness value in the total light field, as well as a control unit which acts on the individual lamps such that the illumination intensity is controlled in accordance with the determined actual brightness value, wherein the brightness detection device and the control unit are designed such that an illumination intensity of a first individual lamp can be set in a targeted manner depending on the actual brightness value and same can be set for brightening or dimming a first light field region independently of an illumination intensity of a second individual light.

LED-based dental exam lamp

A lamp assembly adapted to cast shadow-free illumination over an area. Typically, a lamp assembly includes a plurality of light modules that are disposed in a spaced apart relationship over an area. Desirably, the lamp assembly is arranged to aim the light output of each module for overlapping summation on a target footprint. Modules generally each include a LED light source, a collimating lens disposed at a distal end of the mirror, and a tube disposed between the LED and the collimating lens.

A light source unit includes light-emitting elements, a light-shielding body, and a rod lens including a first end surface, a second end surface, and a side surface. The light-shielding body is separated from the side surface, covers the side surface, includes an opening exposing at least a portion of the second end surface, and includes a tip protruding further than the second end surface in a first direction from the first end surface toward the second end surface. A first plane crosses the first direction and is at the same first-direction position as the tip. A second plane crosses the first direction and is at the same position as the second end surface or between the tip and second end surface in the first direction. A first surface area of the opening at the first plane is greater than a second surface area of the opening at the second plane.

ADAPTIVE LIGHTING ARRAY WITH IMAGE-BASED CONTROL

A light assembly is configured to selectively illuminate an operating region in a surgical suite. The assembly comprises a plurality of lighting modules comprising a plurality of light sources configured to emit light. The assembly further comprises at least one imager configured to capture image data disposed in at least one of the lighting modules. An articulating head assembly is configured to support each of the lighting modules. The articulating head assembly comprises a plurality of actuators configured to rotate each of the lighting modules about a first axis and a second axis. The assembly further comprises a controller. The controller is configured to scan the image data for at least one region of interest comprising at least one of a shaded region and a contaminated region.

WHITE LIGHT CONVERTERS

An optical converter assembly includes a housing, a securing mechanism, and a light converter. The housing defines a first opening that receives part of a light-emitting portion of a dental curing light when the housing is selectively secured relative to the light-emitting portion of the dental curing light. The securing mechanism selectively retains the housing relative to the light-emitting portion. The light converter is comprised of a phosphor material and secured relative to the housing such that input light having a first set of wavelengths and radiant power emitted by the dental curing light is received. The light converter converts the input light to an output light having a second set of wavelengths and radiant power and to emit the output light. The input light includes a blue light and an ultraviolet light that polymerizes a dental material. The output light may be a white light.

USING AN INTRAORAL MIRROR WITH AN INTEGRATED CAMERA TO RECORD DENTAL STATUS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF

Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.

The invention relates to a surgical light comprising a light unit which has a plurality of light sources individually accommodated in a housing, wherein each light source is arranged and oriented in such a way that the light source produces a light beam in an energized state; an anchoring element which is prepared for fastening to a ceiling, a wall or a floor of a room; and a retaining arm system which connects the light unit slidably and/or pivotably to the anchoring element, wherein a position detection device is arranged and designed in such a way that, in the operating state, the position detection device determines a distance of a reference section of the light unit or of the retaining arm system from the ceiling.

DENTAL LIGHT USING LEDS

A dental light comprises at least one light emitting diode light source configured to produce a light beam and at least one collimating lens system situated to receive the light beam. The collimating lens system is configured to collect and collimate the light beam. The collimating lens system can additionally modify the beam through controlled diffusion or shape the beam using an aperture.
