The disclosure provides features or schemes that improve a user's experience with an interactive computer product by reducing latency through late latching and late warping. The late warping can be applied by imaging hardware based on late latch inputs and is applicable for both local and cloud computing environments. In one aspect, the disclosure provides a method of operating an imaging system employing late latching and late warping. In one example the method of operating an imaging system includes: (1) rendering a rendered image based on a user input from an input device and scene data from an application engine, (2) obtaining a late latch input from the input device, (3) rendering, employing imaging hardware, a warped image by late warping at least a portion of the rendered image based on the late latch input, and (4) updating state information in the application engine with late latch and warp information.

The method includes generating messages representing user input received at one client computer of the plurality of client computers, the user input defining content to be shared with the plurality of client computers. The method includes causing the one client computer to transmit the generated messages to the server to elicit transmission of output messages from the server to each of the plurality of client computers, the output messages including information defining the content to be shared. The method includes, in response to receiving output messages from the server at each of the plurality of client computers, displaying the shared content over the common content on the respective display areas on each of the plurality of client computers.

A mobile and adaptable fitness system allows a fitness device to be used to control an application running on a host device. The system includes one or more controllers, a motion sensing device, and a host device. The hand controllers may be mounted on the handlebars of the fitness device or held in a user's hands and include buttons that the user can press. The motion sensing device may be mounted on the user or on a moving part of the fitness device and contains sensors that capture motion performed by the user. The host device receives input data from the hand controllers and the motion sensing device and generates an activity vector representing the intensity at which the user performs a fitness activity. Based on the activity vector, the host device controls an object in an application, such as a character, based on the input data.

A system for generating video game inputs is provided. The system comprises an input unit operable to obtain images of a passive non-luminous object being held by a user as a video games controller. The system also comprises an object detector and object pose detector for detecting the object and its respective pose in the obtained images. The pose detector is configured to detect the pose of the object based on at least one of a (i) contour detection operation and (ii) the output of a machine learning model that has been trained to detect the poses of passive non-luminous objects in images. A user input generator is configured to generate user inputs based on the detected changes in pose of the passive non-luminous object and to transmit these to a video game unit at which a video game is being executed. A corresponding method is also provided.
