Techniques for user rankings within gaming systems
Techniques are described herein for a gaming system that maintains an internal score and an external score for each user. The system maintains the internal scores to reflect demonstrated user skill. The system uses the accurate internal scores to facilitate communication between client computing devices associated with users that have been selected to participate in gameplay instances based on the internal scores. The external scores maintained by the system displayed to the users. Because the external scores are not used for matchmaking, the external scores may be adjusted in any way without requiring internal consistency. For example, to combat gameplay stagnation, the gameplay system periodically resets maintained external scores. For a time, comparisons between the reset external scores do not accurately reflect the users' rankings within the game. However, as the users participate in gameplay, the external scores return to levels that are similar to the users' internal scores.
GAME EFFECT GENERATING METHOD AND APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for generating a game effect, an electronic device, and a computer-readable medium, and the method includes following steps: acquiring an effect setting operation of a user, the effect setting operation including a setting operation of a multimedia material, a setting operation of a scoring rule, and a setting operation of an ending rule; and generating a configuration file of a game effect according to the multimedia material, the scoring rule, and the ending rule. The configuration file is used to indicate presentation of the game effect on a target video; and during the presentation of the game effect, the multimedia material is presented on the target video, scoring is performed and displayed according to the scoring rule, and a game is over in a case that the ending rule is satisfied.
Incentivizing location-based actions by groups
A method of incentivizing location-based actions by groups is disclosed. A group of users of a game networking system is notified that an incentive reward is to be provided based on a number of members of the group performing a location-based action transgressing a threshold. The incentive reward is provided based on the number of members of the group performing the location-based action transgressing the threshold.
NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM HAVING STORED THEREIN INFORMATION PROCESSING PROGRAM, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION SYSTEM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
An information processing apparatus capable of outputting a variety of background music according to game situations is provided.
The information processing apparatus comprises: a competitive game execution unit that executes a competitive game in which a plurality of players participate; a determining unit that determines at least one player among the plurality of players who satisfies a predetermined condition relating to the competitive game during the progress of the competitive game; and a music output device that outputs, during the progress of the competitive game, a first music piece associated with a player satisfying the predetermined conditions and output, after the first music piece, a second music piece to be selected regardless of a player satisfying the predetermined conditions, wherein the music output device, when a player satisfying the predetermined condition is replaced during the progress of the game, causes the first music piece associated with the player newly satisfying the predetermined condition to be output, and after the first music piece, causes a second music piece different from the second music piece included in a music piece that was output before the player was replaced.
Fantasy game system and method for player selection and scoring
A first list of available players is provided to each individual user who then selects a first fantasy lineup, where selections by another individual user does not preclude other individual users from also selecting the same player. First fantasy lineups are received from each individual user, the fantasy lineups comprising one or more players selected from the first list of available players. Each individual user may provide a replacement lineup prior to the end of a game. A subsequent list of available players is provided to each user and does not include players from the first fantasy lineup. Subsequent fantasy lineups from each individual user are received comprising only players selected from the subsequent list of available players. None of the players of the first fantasy lineup for an individual user is included in any subsequent fantasy lineup of the individual user.
Notifying users of options to participate in meta games
In a method of notifying a user of an option to participate in a meta game, a presence of a player of a computer-implemented game at a location is detected. An association between a computer-implemented meta-game and the location is identified. The player of the computer-implemented game is presented with an option to participate in the computer-implemented meta-game. An indication of an acceptance of the option to participate in the computer-implemented meta game is received from the player of the computer-implemented game. A performance of an action within the computer-implemented game by the player of the computer-implemented game is reflected within the computer-implemented meta game.
Computer system, server system, and game system
A computer system gives an object to a player who has satisfied a given game condition in a game in which a plurality of players participate. The computer system gives a given prize to an owner player having the object when the owner player has satisfied a given prize giving condition. In the case where an owner player lost in a competition between the owner player and another player, the computer system confiscates an object from the owner player, thereby turning the owner player to a non-owner player, and turning another player to a new owner player.
Systems and methods for generating a meta-game from legacy games
A method for generating a meta-game is described. The method includes receiving, via a first user account, a first user input for a first challenge during a play of a legacy game. The first challenge is created from a first plurality of basic blocks of the legacy game. The method further includes recording at least a portion of the first challenge and receiving, via the first user account, a second user input for a second challenge during the play of the legacy game. The second challenge is created from a second plurality of basic blocks of the legacy game. The method includes recording at least a portion of the second challenge, determining whether a third user input is received via the first user account to request creation of the meta-game, and generating the meta-game from the first and second challenges upon determining that the third user input is received.
INCENTIVIZED TASK COMPLETION USING CHANCE-BASED AWARDS
A game provided to users of a game space may include a task to be performed by the users. A plurality of virtual chance items may be composed. Individual ones of the virtual chance items may be configured to be activated by the users in the game space to obtain virtual awards in the game space. The virtual awards may include one or more primary awards and one or more secondary awards. Composing the virtual chance items may include determining probabilities that the individual virtual chance items will provide a primary award and/or a secondary award upon activation. The virtual chance items may be distributed to the users that complete the task responsive to these users completing the task. The virtual awards may be provided to the users in accordance with the probabilities assigned to the virtual chance items in response to the users activating the virtual chance items.
Systems and methods for competitive scene completion in an application
In the disclosed systems and methods for competitive scene completion, an application displays an initial scene of a first scene completion challenge and displays within the initial scene a plurality of markers. Each of the markers has corresponding predefined designated coordinates and corresponds to a furnishing unit type. The application also displays virtual furnishing units that match the furnishing unit type of a corresponding marker. User selection of virtual furnishing units results in display of a three-dimensional rendition of the selected units at corresponding coordinates within the scene, thereby creating an augmented scene that comprises the initial scene with three-dimensional renditions of selected virtual furnishing units. The augmented scene or user selections of virtual furnishing units is submitted to a remote server and the user is provided with a reward.
