GAS FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER HAVING THE SAME
Disclosed are a gas furnace and an air conditioner having the same. The gas furnace includes: a burner for burning fuel; a manifold providing the fuel to an entry of the burner; a heat exchanger spaced apart from an exit of the burner and providing a passage for combustion gas generated by the burner; an inducer for causing a fluid to flow through the burner and the heat exchanger; a blower for causing a flow of air passing around the heat exchanger; and an air shutter positioned between the manifold and the entry of the burner. The air shutter includes: a housing having an inner space that communicates with the manifold and the entry of the burner; and a primary hole formed to penetrate the housing and able to be opened and closed.
System and method for bimodal air control in a kettle-style grill
Exemplary embodiments of a system and method for bimodal air control in a kettle-style grill are configured to be detachably mounted to the exterior of a kettle-styled grill such as, but not limited to, a Weber® charcoal grill. When mounted to the kettle-styled grill, a plenum-like component directs air flows to the interior of the grill's kettle via the kettle's lower body damper holes. A manually adjustable intake damper in the plenum component allows, restricts, or prevents a drawn ambient air flow into the plenum component. Separately, a forced air flow generated by a fan may also be provided into the plenum component. Adjustment of the intake damper may also adjust damper blades inside the grill's kettle. Ash that falls out of the kettle's damper holes falls through the plenum component and is captured in an ash receptacle that is removably mounted to the plenum component.
DUAL MOTOR CONTROLLER FOR FURNACE APPLICATIONS
A furnace including: a blower assembly compartment; a blower assembly located within the blower assembly compartment; a blower motor located within the blower assembly compartment, the blower motor operably connected to a fan of the blower assembly; an induced draft blower; an inducer motor operably connected to the induced draft blower; and a dual motor controller located within the blower assembly compartment, the dual motor controller being configured to independently control at least one of a torque or a speed of the blower motor and the inducer motor.
Combustion control device
An object of the present invention is to realize a combustion control device that reduces, when a pressure within a mixer is rapidly increased at the time of ignition of the combustion control device, the transmission of the temporarily increased pressure to a pressure sensor, that brings the pressure sensor into a non-operated state and that thereby can continue combustion in the combustion control device. Hence, a combustion control device is provided that includes: a combustion chamber which has a heat dissipation disc on a front surface and within which a combustion room is formed; a burner which is attached to the combustion chamber; a mixer which mixes a gas supplied to the burner with air; and a pressure sensor which is connected to the mixer through a pressure passage, where a pressure propagation delay means which reduces transmission to the pressure sensor caused by a temporary pressure increase within the mixer is provided partway along the pressure passage.
Control and/or Regulation of a Combustion Apparatus
A facility for control of a combustion apparatus comprising: a memory storing a limit value and a correction factor; a communication connection to a sensor and an actuator; and a processor. The processor: receives an input signal from the sensor; uses the signal to form a measured value specifying a fuel air ratio, an air ratio, and/or an oxygen content; and loads the limit value and compares the measured value with the limit value. If the measured value is less than or greater than the limit value, the processor either loads the correction factor and determines a correction value as a function of the limit value, the correction factor, and the measured value, or loads the stored correction value from the memory, and then creates an output signal as a function of the correction value and sends the output signal to the actuator.
Premixing Apparatus
In a premixing apparatus that mixes a fuel gas with air, supplies an air-fuel mixture to a burner through a fan, and carries out a control that regulates an opening degree of a variable throttle valve, which is interposed in a gas supply passage, so that an excess air ratio of an air-fuel mixture becomes an appropriate value, in a case where a detected excess air ratio deviates to one side, e.g., a large side, from an acceptable range, a motor is repeatedly caused to rotate by a unit-angle in an opening-degree increasing direction until the detected excess air ratio becomes an appropriate value. In a case where the detected air ratio deviates to the other side, e.g., a small side, from the acceptable range, the motor is caused to rotate, at a high speed in an opening-degree decreasing direction, till a first position that is anticipated that the excess air ratio will become a value that deviates by a fixed quantity from the acceptable range to a large side, thereafter, the motor is caused to rotate, at the high speed in an opening-degree increasing direction, till a second position that is a short of a target position, and subsequently, the motor is caused to rotate by the unit-angle in the opening-increasing direction.
Electronic Gas/Air Burner Modulating Control
An electronic control system for a power burner system for use with a heating appliance includes a burner tube, a gas valve for providing gas to the burner tube, an electronic control and a variable speed combustion air blower for mixing air with the gas provided to the burner tube. The electronic control system further includes a control in communication with the gas valve and the combustion air blower. The control may also be in communication with various other devices of an appliance, such as a variable speed air-circulating fan, a variable speed exhaust fan, or various sensors associated with the heating appliance. The control modulates the gas valve and the combustion air blower to maintain substantially stoichiometric conditions of the gas and air provided to the burner tube and as a function of signals from at least one of the devices. In one embodiment, the burner system may be used in a conveyor oven.
Water heater operation monitoring and notification
A water heater monitoring and notification method includes determining, by a controller of a water heater system, a deviation of a duration of a pre-purge operation from a pre-purge duration average value. The method further includes determining, by the controller of the water heater system, a deviation of a flame current from a flame current average value and determining, by the controller of the water heater system, a deviation of a pulse-width-modulation (PWM) parameter from a PWM parameter average value. The method also includes providing a notification related to a combustion system of the water heater system based on at least the deviation of the duration of the pre-purge operation from the pre-purge duration average value, the deviation of the flame current from the flame current average value, and the deviation of the PWM parameter from the PWM parameter average value.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A GAS BURNER APPLIANCE
A method for determining an change in an operating condition of a gas burner appliance. In some instances, a calibration of a gas/air mixture may be performed when the combustion quality of the gas burner appliance diminishes. This may be accomplished by adjusting a throttle position of a throttle valve that throttles the gas to the gas burner appliance. After calibration has been performed, a throttle position of the throttle valve is determined, and based on the throttle position determined after calibration, a change of an operating condition of the gas burner appliance is detectable.
Method for electronically regulating a combustible mixture, for example gas fed to a burner
A method for regulating the combustible mixture such as air/gas, air/methane gas or the like fed to a burner, the method including measuring a flame signal correlated with the composition of the mixture fed by feed members controlled by a combustion controller arranged to regulate the combustion on the basis of the flame signal. During burner operation the mixture feed conditions are modified within a narrow time interval to obtain a flame signal variation; a ratio between values of this the flame signal at the end and at the beginning of the interval is compared with a predetermined reference value; and, on the basis of the deviation of this ratio from the reference value, the flame set point is regulated, as consequently is the air or gas of the mixture if this is rendered necessary.
