Furthermore, a temperature-control element (5) and a method for climate control of a building (20) are specified.
WASTEWATER CONDITIONING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A method of conditioning wastewater includes flowing wastewater into and through a first fluid tube and flowing a heat transfer fluid into and through a second fluid tube. The heat transfer fluid entering the second fluid tube has a different temperature than the wastewater entering the first fluid tube. The first fluid tube and said second fluid tube are positioned within a first casing that is surrounded by insulation. The first casing and the insulation are positioned within a second casing. The wastewater in said first fluid tube and said heat transfer fluid in said second fluid tube are arranged to allow heat transfer between the wastewater in said first fluid tube and the heat transfer fluid in said second fluid tube.
Thermal-energy exchange and storage system
A thermal-energy exchange and storage system has a borefield with a core zone and at least one capacity expansion zone. Each of the core zone and the at least one capacity expansion zone have a plurality of boreholes. The at least one capacity expansion zone is positioned outwards from and encircling the core zone and each additional capacity expansion zone is positioned outwards from and encircling the previous capacity expansion zone. A heat source is provided in fluid communication with a heat exchanger. An injection system circulates an operating fluid. The injection system has at least one U-tube installed within the plurality of boreholes and operating fluid is circulated between the at least one U-tube and the heat exchanger for transferring heat from the heat source. An extraction system is provided for extracting heat stored in the system for use in an infrastructure.
Heat Transfer Device
A refrigeration and/or heat transfer device includes a heating section and cooling section, a release member, and a one-way check valve affixed together in a continuous loop so working fluid may flow in one direction therein. The heating section absorbs heat and transfers such heat to the working fluid, thereby heating, expanding and increasing pressure upon the working fluid therein. The pressurized working fluid is released in a regulated manner from the heating section to the cooling section, thereby carrying the heat away. The released working fluid cools and transfers its heat to the surroundings within the cooling section. As released working fluid enters the cooling section, such fluid displaces already cooled working fluid, pushing such fluid through the one-way check valve back into the heating section to absorb heat. The working fluid may undergo a phase change or remain in a single phase throughout to enhance heat transfer.
Trench-conformable geothermal heat exchange reservoirs and related methods and systems
The disclosure describes trench-confirmable geothermal reservoirs that can snugly abut trench walls (that may be of virgin, compacted earth) for facilitating heat exchange and flow liquid from one lower end to an opposing top end, and vice versa, depending on desired heat exchange. The direction can be reversed for summer and winter heat/cooling configurations. A series of the reservoirs may be used for appropriate heat transfer. The water volume of the reservoirs is relatively large and slow moving for good earth heat conduction.
Building Designs and Heating and Cooling Systems
Building heating and/or cooling methods are provided that can include: distributing fluid from within conduits within a concrete floor of a building to conduits within grounds surrounding and/or supporting the building; diverting at least some of the fluid exiting the conduits within the grounds surrounding and/or supporting the building to a dehumidifier operably associated with the interior of the building; and returning the at least some of the fluid from the dehumidifier to the conduits within the grounds surrounding and/or supporting the building.
GEOTHERMAL HEAT EXCHANGER, GEOTHERMAL HEAT ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR CHARGING THERMAL ENERGY INTO GROUND
A geothermal heat exchanger, a geothermal heat arrangement and to a method in connection with a geothermal heat arrangement. The geothermal heat exchanger includes a piping arrangement having a rise pipe and a drain pipe, and a first pump arranged to the piping arrangement. The rise pipe and drain pipe are arranged in fluid communication with each other for circulating the primary working fluid. The rise pipe is provided with a first thermal insulation surrounding the rise pipe along at least part of the length of the rise pipe and the first pump is arranged to circulate the primary working fluid in a direction towards a lower end of the rise pump.
Smart desert geothermal heat pump for air conditioning and domestic water cooling
The smart desert geothermal heat pump for air conditioning and domestic water cooling includes a heat pump having heat exchange piping adapted for installation underground in desert sand adjacent a structure to be heated/cooled. The heat pump draws heat from the sand to heat air in the structure in a heating cycle and draws heat from the structure to sink in the ground in a cooling cycle to cool the structure. A processor has an artificial intelligence machine learning unit configured to store historical weather data and mean heat pump on/off times by calendar date in Big Data tall arrays, and periodically re-computes mean heat pump on/off times by calendar date. A controller connected to the processor and at least one switch on the heat pump automatically switches between heating and cooling cycles and turns the pump on and off according to the median re-computed heat pump on/off times.
