Overflow sensor assembly in temperature control systems

In one embodiment, an overflow sensor assembly of an HVAC unit includes a sensor mounting bracket that is configured to be coupled to a mounting surface of the HVAC unit such that sensor probes of the overflow sensor assembly are suspended within and extend into a condensate drain pan of the HVAC unit. The sensor probes are defined by a sensor element that is coupled to the sensor mounting bracket and a spring that is coupled to the sensor element. The sensor probes are configured to activate an overflow detection circuit when the sensor probes come in contact with condensate fluid collected in the condensate drain pan prior to the condensate fluid overflowing from the condensate drain pan.

CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING AIR HANDLER DRAIN LINE FLUSH AND SCENT INJECTOR

Enhancements to an air handler of an air conditioning system. The enhancements can include a scent dispersion system, a heat exchanger rinse system, and/or an air handler condensation drain pipe flush system. The scent dispersion system employs a pressure differential established within the air handler to draw a scent mist from a scent reservoir. The scent is disbursed throughout the structure by the air conditioning ventilation system. The heat exchanger rinse system dispenses a rinse fluid onto the heat exchanger. A cleaning composition can be injected into the rinse fluid to aid in the cleaning process. The flush system automatically configures a check valve upstream of the flush injection point. A flush fluid flows through the drain pipe applying a pressure to dislodge a blockage therein. A chemical composition can be added into the flush fluid to assist in the dislodging process.

Ruggedized environmental control unit

The present disclosure is directed to implementation of an environmental control unit using rotomolded techniques to fabricate the structures of the unit instead of the standard conventional sheet metal, extruded, forged, and punched parts. Such implementations will provide a lighter weight and more durable mechanical configuration that will also simplify inspection, simplify assembly/disassembly, and reduce fabrication costs. Implementations incorporate rotationally-molded interlocking structures to contain and attach the critical items of the ECU's mechanical components including the compressor, and the indoor and outdoor coils, as well as the fan and blower motor assembly. In one implementation, the rotomolded structure is strengthened and insulated (thermally and acoustically) by filling the interior void of the rotationally molded structure with a closed-cell foam.

Condensate drain line cleaning system

A condensate drain line cleaning system including a coil attachment assembly and a drain attachment assembly is disclosed herein. The coil attachment assembly includes a tubing body configured to be connected to the drain line that is attached to the evaporator coil of an existing air conditioning unit. The drain attachment assembly is configured to be connecting to the existing drain line located outside a user's home. A user then pours a cleaning solution into an opening in the coil attachment assembly. Afterwards, a user then actuates a shut off valve disposed on the drain attachment assembly. A user then pours hot water into the opening of the coil attachment assembly to activate the cleaner therein. After waiting a certain amount of time, the user may then re-open the shut of valve to drain all the waste present in the drain line.

Indoor unit of air-conditioning apparatus and air-conditioning apparatus

An indoor unit of an air-conditioning apparatus includes a heat-medium heat exchanger, an air vent valve, a drain pan, and a hose. The heat-medium heat exchanger is provided in a housing to cause heat exchange to be performed between a heat medium and indoor air. The air vent valve allows air to escape from a heat medium passage that allows the heat medium to flow in the heat-medium heat exchanger. The drain pan is provided below the heat-medium heat exchanger to receive condensation water generated at a surface of the heat-medium heat exchanger. The hose has flexibility, and is attached to the air vent valve, and provided to let out the air along with the heat medium from the heat medium passage to the inner space in the drain pan. The hose has a double-wall structure and an upper end portion of the hose is fixed to the air vent valve.
