A control system, comprising one or more smoke sensors, each configured to measure a level of smoke at a location within a building and to output a smoke level signal based at least in part upon the measured level of smoke. A controller configured to receive the smoke level signals and to control an operation of one or more energy recovery ventilation systems in a first mode of operation to recover energy when the smoke level signal is below a predetermined value and in a second mode of operation to evacuate smoke when the smoke level signal is above the predetermined value.

Pulley-Driven Automated Window or Door System
A motorized window with one or more motors and a frame with a slidable segment is disclosed. A drive system with pulleys engages with a belt or chain mounted to the frame or slidable segment. Rotating a first pulley in a first rotational direction causes the first pulley to pull the slidable segment in a first linear direction. Rotating the first pulley in a second rotational direction causes the first pulley to pull the slidable segment in a second linear direction. Preferably, a controller controls the operation of the motors. Sensors inform the controller, and user input via a mobile device enables both direct user control and programming of the controller.
Systems and methods for mitigating smoke damage to a property
Smoke and/or soot damage to an interior of a property, such as a residential building or home, may be mitigated. A controller is in communication with a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system of the property. The controller is configured to receive an alert and/or intelligent home telematics data generated based upon a potential presence of smoke in a location associated with the property, either exterior or interior to the property. In response to receiving the alert and/or intelligent home telematics data, the controller is further configured deactivate an air circulation function of the HVAC system to mitigate smoke or fire damage to the property. The intelligent home telematics data may be generated by various smoke, fire, audio, visual, infrared, motion, and/or other smart sensors mounted about the interior and/or exterior of the property.
SYSTEM FOR DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF INDOOR AIR QUALITY USING MACHINE LEARNING
The present invention relates to a system for diagnosis and management of indoor air quality, and more particularly to a system for diagnosis and management of indoor air quality which is capable of obtaining and analyzing air quality data by measuring the indoor air quality of a vehicle or accommodation space and of detecting smoking or non-smoking, the type of smoking, and an abnormal situation by diagnosing at least one of indoor smoking and smoking types.
In addition, the present invention relates to a technology for facilitating the management of accommodation by efficiently diagnosing indoor air quality.

Methods and apparatus are provided for determining a particulate concentration level with a portable component. In one embodiment, the method includes outputting one or more control signals, by a processor, to activate a motor to generate an airflow stream through a cavity of the portable component; determining a concentration level of fine particulate matter in the airflow; determining an air quality level of the airstream through the cavity based on the determined concentration level; and outputting the determined concentration level with a graphical indicator of the air quality level for display on a display associated with the portable component.
INTEGRATED MONITORING AND ANALYSIS SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods monitor a space for environmental pollutants. A sensing device senses and reports air quality anomalies to a cloud detection service. The cloud detection service uses artificial intelligence to analyze raw sensor data from the sensing device, determines whether the raw sensor data indicates an air quality event, and sends an air quality report indicative of the air quality event to a client device associated with the sensing device and/or the monitored space. A sensing device may be deployed in an air extraction vent to detect and report indications of vaping in prohibited spaces. A sensing device may be deployed in a vehicle to detect and report smoking in vehicles where smoking is prohibited. An application running on a mobile device reports detection of a short-range wireless beacon within a serviceable space to a cloud detection service, which tracks servicing of the serviceable space.

An air purifying system includes an air purifier mechanism, a controller, and a sensing device. The sensing device is configured to measure an air quality parameter of the air entering the housing via the air inlet to generate inlet air quality data, and to measure an air quality parameter of the purified air exiting the housing via the air outlet to generate outlet air quality data. The controller is configured to: receive the inlet air quality data and the outlet air quality data, compare the inlet air quality data and the outlet air quality data with their corresponding predetermined threshold ranges, and determine an action to be taken.

The apparatus comprises a plurality of sensors configured for sensing information related to a plurality of characteristics of the air in at least one room; a processor configured for collecting and processing the information to generate air-related data; and a transceiver configured for communicating the air-related data to a user device of a user and configured for communicating with a network of one or more devices that can modify the air in the at least one room.
