A vapor compression cooling system having both an air and liquid cooling sub circuit designed to service high sensible process heat loads that cannot be solely cooled by either liquid or air is provided.
Air-conditioning device
An air-conditioning device includes a heater unit that heats the air to be lead to a vehicle cabin using the heat of the refrigerant compressed by a compressor, a liquid receiver arranged at the downstream side of an outside heat exchanger, a liquid receiver separating the refrigerant lead from the outside heat exchanger into a liquid-phase refrigerant and a gaseous-phase refrigerant and storing the liquid-phase refrigerant, and a restrictor mechanism provided between the heater unit and the outside heat exchanger, the restrictor mechanism decompressing and expanding the refrigerant. When there is a dehumidification request, the operation mode is temporarily switched from a dehumidifying cabin-heating mode which evaporates the refrigerant by an evaporating unit and radiates heat by the heater unit in the state in which the restrictor mechanism restricts the flow of the refrigerant, to the cabin-cooling mode which evaporates the refrigerant by the evaporating unit while promoting the storage of the liquid-phase refrigerant in the liquid receiver.

The electronic expansion valve includes: a valve body; a first temperature sensor configured to detect an evaporator temperature T.sub.eva; a second temperature sensor configured to detect a compressor inlet temperature T.sub.suc; a third temperature sensor configured to detect a compressor outlet temperature T.sub.dis; a fourth temperature sensor configured to detect a condenser temperature T.sub.con; and a controller, which is associated with the first temperature sensor, the second temperature sensor, the third temperature sensor and the fourth temperature sensor, and which adjusts an opening degree of the valve body based on temperature signals from the first temperature sensor, the second temperature sensor, the third temperature sensor and the fourth temperature sensor.
REFRIGERATION CYCLE DEVICE
A refrigeration cycle device includes: a compressor having a compression mechanism forming a compression chamber for compressing refrigerant, and a cooled portion cooled by the refrigerant before being compressed by the compression mechanism; a radiator that radiates the refrigerant compressed by the compressor; a decompressor that decompresses the refrigerant radiated by the radiator; an evaporator that evaporates the refrigerant decompressed by the decompressor; an acquisition unit that acquires the state of the refrigerant after cooling the cooled portion and before flowing into the compression chamber; and a control unit that controls the superheat degree of the refrigerant flowing into the compression chamber based on the state of the refrigerant acquired by the acquisition unit.
BIMODAL COOLING SYSTEM
Cooling systems and methods of operation are provided. The cooling system may comprise a two-phase pumped loop (TPPL). The two-phase pumped loop may include, a receiver, a pump downstream from the receiver, a heat load downstream from the pump, a TPPL tee downstream from the heat load, a TPPL check valve downstream from the TPPL tee, and a heat exchanger downstream from the TPPL check valve and upstream from the receiver. The cooling system may further include a vapor cycle system (VCS) loop. The vapor cycle system loop may include the receiver, a compressor downstream from a vapor outlet of the receiver, a compressor check valve downstream from the compressor and upstream of the heat exchanger, the heat exchanger, and the heat load downstream from a liquid outlet of the receiver.
Demand flow for air cooled chillers
A system is provided for controlling air flow over a condenser. A fan is arranged to cause flow of air over the condenser. A meter is configured to determine energy used by an air cooled chiller, which includes the condenser. A controller is configured to control air flow caused by the fan as a function of the energy.
Airconditioning apparatus
Provided is an air conditioning apparatus that sufficiently raises the temperature of hot air to be blown out when receiving a request for high-temperature air temporarily raising the temperature of the hot air. A first use side unit includes a first use side heat exchanger and a first use side fan. A second use side unit includes a second use side heat exchanger and a second use side fan. When the first use side unit receives a request for the high-temperature air and the second use side unit receives no request for the high-temperature air, the air conditioning apparatus shifts to a mode that performs control to reduce the airflow volume of the second use side fan or make the airflow volume of the second use side fan zero such as reducing the number of revolutions of the second use side fan in another room by 40 rpm.
Direct expansion evaporator with vapor ejector capacity boost
A system and method for increasing the refrigeration capacity of a direct expansion refrigeration system having a vapor separator and a vapor ejector. After the throttling process at the expansion device, the mixture of liquid and vapor enters the inlet separator. The vapor separator generates vapor to power the ejector through flashing of warm refrigerant liquid from a higher temperature and pressure to a lower pressure. The cooler refrigerant liquid then goes to the evaporator coil inlet. Furthermore, the system stabilizes the superheat of the outlet vapor and reduces fluctuations in outlet superheat caused by excess unevaporated liquid flowing from the outlets of the tubes due to mal-distribution at the inlet.
