A left-and-right door opening mechanism comprises a locking box assembly disposed on a refrigerator body and a hinge module disposed on a refrigerator door body. The hinge module comprises a first hinge and a second hinge. The locking box assembly comprises a locking box body and a locking plate. A first opening and a second opening are respectively formed in two sides of the locking box body. A first groove and a second groove are respectively formed in two sides of the locking plate. The locking plate moves in the locking box body to align the first opening with the first groove or to align the second opening with the second groove. The first hinge or the second hinge is disengaged from the first opening and the first groove or from the second opening and the second groove to realize door opening from the left side or the right side.

The present invention is directed to a Cabinet for a recreational vehicle having a main housing with an interior space, a front opening, a left side and a right side; and a door configured to seal the front opening. The cabinet further comprises a left hinge mechanism with a left hinge axis and a right hinge mechanism with a right hinge axis to selectively couple the door hinge-wise to the left side or the right side so that the door can either be rotated about the left hinge axis or the right hinge axis. The door comprises a left handle which is operably coupled to the left hinge mechanism and the right hinge mechanism so that operating the left handle allows to rotate the door about the right hinge axis. The door further comprises a right handle which is operable coupled to the left hinge mechanism and the right hinge mechanism so that operating the right handle allows to rotate the door about the left hinge axis. The left hinge mechanism comprises a left locking member separate from the left hinge axis and the right hinge mechanism comprises a right locking member separate from the right hinge axis; and the left locking member and the right locking member are in engagement with a blocking element. Operating the left handle displaces the blocking element so that the left locking member is disengaged from the blocking element, and operating the right handle displaces the blocking element so that the right locking member is disengaged from the blocking element.

The transmission module comprises a transmission bottom plate, two first gears oppositely arranged on the transmission bottom plate, a transmission rack which is in transmission through the first gears, and second gears which are in transmission with the first gears respectively. The transmission rack is guided and limited by the second gears. The hinge module comprises a hinge bottom plate and two hinges oppositely arranged on the hinge bottom plate. The hinges are in transmission with the first gears. When the two hinges are respectively meshed with the first gears, the door body is locked. When the hinge on one side is disengaged from the first gear but the hinge on the other side is still meshed with the other first gear, the door body is opened.

The left-right door opening mechanism comprises first modules symmetrically arranged on the left side and the right side of a door body, and second modules symmetrically arranged on the left side and the right side of a refrigerator body. Each first module comprises a mounting bottom plate and gears rotatable on the mounting bottom plate. Each first module is provided with an opening. Each second module comprises a rack in transmission with the corresponding gear, a hinge used for fixing the rack, a rotating shaft mounted in cooperation with the hinge, and a guiding slider fixedly located below the hinge. When the left-right door opening mechanism is in a locked state, the rotating shafts are accommodated in the openings.

Finally, the present invention also refers to a recreational vehicle provided with at least one of the above devices.
