METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STABILIZING PRECURSOR FIBERS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CARBON FIBERS
The invention relates to a method and to a device for stabilizing precursor fibers for the production of carbon fibers. In the method, precursor fibers are first heated to a first temperature and held at the temperature for a predefined duration. Subsequently, the precursor fibers are heated to at least one second temperature, which is higher than the first temperature, and held at said temperature for a predefined duration. During each heating and between the heating steps, the precursor fibers are in a gas atmosphere having a negative pressure in the range between 12 mbar and 300 mbar and having an oxygen partial pressure of 2.5 to 63 mbar. The device has at least one evacuable, elongate vacuum chamber for feeding the precursor fibers through, at least two lock units and at least one heating unit. At least one lock unit is used for the sealed insertion of precursor fibers into the at least one vacuum chamber, while at least one other lock unit is used for the sealed removal of precursor fibers from the at least one vacuum chamber. The heating unit has at least two individually controllable heating elements, which are suitable for heating the at least one vacuum chamber to at least two different temperatures in heating zones which are adjacent in the longitudinal direction.
CONTINUOUS PROCESSING CHAMBERS
This disclosure is directed to a continuous processing chamber that includes: a material shaft through which the material introduced by an inlet may be transported and discharged through an outlet; optionally an inner gas transfer tube in fluid communication with the material shaft with an inner filtration wall that encases at least a portion of the inner gas transfer tube and is in fluid communication with both the material shaft and the inner gas transfer tube; optionally an outer filtration wall that encases at least a portion of the material shaft and is in fluid communication with the material shaft and associated with an outer gas transfer tube. The continuous processing chamber may be incorporated into methods for treating the material to produce a lithiated product.
CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE RECIRCULATION OVEN
An apparatus useful in treating a carbon fibre precursor material under predetermined conditions of temperature and gaseous environment. The apparatus includes a housing, and a reaction chamber disposed within the housing. The reaction chamber is elongate and has an entry port at a first end and an exit port at a second end. The entry and exit ports are configured to allow passage of a carbon fibre precursor material into and out of the reaction chamber respectively. A heater or heating system is configured to heat a wall of the reaction chamber. In use, a precursor material is passed through the reaction chamber and is thereby heated.
Method and device for reaction control
A continuous annealing furnace for annealing steel strips has a reaction chamber wherein the steel strips are transported vertically, the reaction chamber having openings supplied with a reactant, also called reactant openings, located at the top or at the bottom of the reaction chamber, wherein the reaction chamber further has other openings supplied with an inert gas, also called inert gas openings, the inert gas openings being located on the lateral sides of the reaction chamber.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CERAMIC PRODUCT CONTAINING SILICON CARBIDE
A method for manufacturing a ceramic product containing silicon carbide, including a step of firing a formed body of a green body containing silicon carbide by transporting the formed body from an inlet to an outlet of a continuous furnace, wherein the continuous furnace includes the inlet, a heating zone, a cooling zone, and the outlet in this order, and a furnace atmosphere in both the heating zone and the cooling zone is an inert gas having an oxygen concentration of 100 ppm by volume or less.
GLASS BODY MANUFACTURING APPARATUS, GLASS BODY MANUFACTURING METHOD, SOOT CONVEYING MECHANISM, AND SOOT HEATING MECHANISM
A glass body manufacturing apparatus includes: a first heating furnace including a furnace core tube accommodating the soot and a first heater, to supply a dehydration gas into the furnace core tube and heat the soot at a first treatment temperature lower than a softening point of the porous portion by the first heater; a second heating furnace including a structural body accommodating the soot and a second heater, to heat the soot at a second treatment temperature equal to or higher than the softening point by the second heater; and a conveyance container, connectable to each of the first and second heating furnaces while keeping airtightness with respect to the atmosphere, to accommodate and hold the soot, and convey the soot between the first and second heating furnaces.
SYSTEM FOR CLEANING METALLIC SCRAPS FROM ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
An installation for melting metallic scraps, and particularly adapted for melting aluminium scraps, includes a system for cleaning the metallic scraps, and in particular for cleaning the scraps from organic compounds.
CONVEYING A MATERIAL TO BE CONVEYED

A roasting furnace for the production of industrial catalysts, provided with a ventilation system comprising a fresh air duct system and a circulating air duct system, wherein the fresh air duct system includes a high pressure blower, a fresh air inlet pipe and a loading frame. The fresh air-and-circulating air mixed roasting system allows the fresh air and circulating air to be fully mixed and dispersed to provide even heating. The catalyst product obtained after roasting has stable quality, good catalytic activity, and high strength.
Carburization device and carburization method
A carburization device includes a heating furnace which heats a material, a transfer mechanism, an alcohol vapor generator, an alcohol vapor spraying portion, a quenching tank, and an exhaust heat intake tube. The transfer mechanism moves a plurality of materials. The alcohol vapor generator uses part of heat generated by the heating furnace as a heat source. As the alcohol vapor spraying portion repeats a vapor spraying step and a diffusion step a plurality of times in the heating furnace. In the vapor spraying step, by spraying alcohol vapor on the material which moves inside the heating furnace, carbon in the alcohol is adsorbed to the material. In the diffusion step, an interval for diffusing the carbon adsorbed to the material is taken.
