A fault diagnosis method for an electrical fused magnesia furnace includes steps of: 1) arranging six cameras; 2) obtaining video information by the six cameras and sending the video information to a control center; then analyzing the video information by a chip of the control center; wherein a multi-view-based fault diagnosis method is used by the chip, comprising steps of: 2-1) comparing a difference between two consecutive frame histograms for shots segmentation; 2-2) computing a set of characteristic values for each shot obtained by the step 2-1), and then computing color, texture, and motion vector information; finally, evaluating shot importance via entropy; 2-3) clustering shots together by calculating similarity; 2-4) generating and optimizing a multi-view video summarization with a multi-objective optimization model; and 2-5) providing fault detection and diagnosis; and 3) displaying results of the fault detection and diagnosis on a host computer inter face of the control center.

System and Method for an Electrode Seal Assembly

A sealing system for isolating the environment inside a vitrification container from the outside environment comprises a vitrification container with a lid. The lid comprises two or more electrode seal assemblies through which two or more electrodes may be operatively positioned and extend down through the lid into the vitrification container. The electrodes may move axially up and down through the electrode seal assemblies or lock into place. The electrode seal assemblies each comprise a housing having two halves with recessed ring grooves. Sealing rings with a split may be placed into the grooves. Gas galleries may be machined or cast into the housing such that they are adjacent to the ring grooves. The gas galleries distribute gas onto the external faces of the sealing rings causing a change in pressure resulting in the sealing rings compressing onto the electrodes and forming a seal.

A device for viewing and/or illuminating a target surface in an evacuated chamber having condensable vapor therein, the device comprising: a first section with a through hole having a first end with a first opening and a second end with a second opening; and a second section having a chamber comprising a first portion with a first opening, a second portion with a second opening and a gas inlet, where the second opening is covered with a first window, said first section is attached with the first end to the first portion of the chamber allowing free passage between the chamber and the first section, said gas inlet is connectable to a gas reservoir for feeding a gas into the chamber for prohibiting the first window in the chamber for being contaminated of the condensable vapor.

FINE RATIO MEASURING METHOD AND APPARATUS

An object is to measure the fine ratio, or the ratio of fines adhering to the surface of lumps of material, in real time with high accuracy.

A fine ratio measuring method includes a step S1 of measuring a distance between a distance measuring device and lumps of material, a step S2 of calculating a feature quantity from distance data obtained in the step S1, and a step S3 of converting the feature quantity calculated in the step S2 to a fine ratio. The feature quantity calculated in the step S2 represents distance variation calculated from the distance data obtained in the step S1. A higher fine ratio in lumps of material means greater microscopic distance variation caused by microscopic irregularities in the surface of the lumps of material in the height direction within a three-dimensional shape. Therefore, by using the distance variation as the feature quantity, the fine ratio in the lumps of material can be measured in real time with high accuracy.
