U-BENDS WITH THE REDUCED PRESSURE LOSSES TO FLUID DISTRIBUTING NETWORKS

Provided herein are components for a fluid network modified for one or more objective functions of interest such as pressure drop, erosion rate, fouling, coke deposition and operating costs.

FURNACE COIL MODIFIED FINS

The present disclosure provides for thick fins on the surface of coils or tubes in a steam cracking furnace. The fins have a thickness at their base from ¼ to ¾ of the radius of the furnace tube. The fins have grooves or protuberances on not less than about 10% of a major surface. The fins help increase the radiant heat taken up by the tube from the walls and combustion gases in the furnace.

HEAT EXCHANGER

A high pressure heat exchanger having a first manifold and a second manifold connected fluidly by a plurality of tube sets arranged in a spaced manner along the manifolds. At least one of the manifold includes a rear cover, a header with slots receiving tube end sections of the tube sets and several internal plates interposed between the header and the rear cover and configured to create a flow path within the manifold, this flow path being in fluid connection with the tubes to allow a circulation of a refrigerant in the tubes and the manifold. The header has preferably at least a first area adjacent to at least one of the slots and having a first thickness and at least a second area surrounding at least partially the first area and having a second thickness, the first thickness being smaller than the second thickness.

The present invention relates to a heat exchanger comprising: a header tank having a plurality of flow paths in which a heat exchange medium flows; multiple rows of tubes connected to the header tank; and heat radiation fins interposed between the tubes, wherein the tubes include a heat exchange part coupled to the heat radiation fins and a coupling part that is formed on a longitudinal end of the heat exchange part and coupled to the header tank, the width of the coupling part is formed to be less than the width of the heat exchange part so that the overall package size of the heat exchanger may be reduced, thus enabling a compact configuration, and the space between neighboring rows of the tubes may be reduced, thus making it possible to reduce the material of the heat radiation fins.

HEAT EXCHANGER

A heat exchanger includes: refrigerant channels that extend in a first direction, are disposed along a second direction intersecting with the first direction, and are disposed along a third direction intersecting with the first direction and the second direction; and heat transfer tubes defining the refrigerant channels. One or both of a size of an outer edge and a size of an inner edge of the heat transfer tubes are different between a first position and a second position in the first direction. Outer surfaces of the heat transfer tubes each include a protrusion that protrudes in a direction intersecting with the first direction, and is in contact with an outer surface of one of the heat transfer tubes adjacent thereto in the second direction. The protrusion includes a concave portion extending along the third direction.

Tube stay installation assembly

A tube stay mounting assembly includes a press assembly having a housing and a top block configured to flatten fins on a first surface of a finned tube. A press arm is operable to move the top block vertically with respect to the housing. A bottom block is configured to flatten fins on a second surface of the finned tube when the press arm is rotated and moves the top block downwardly. A tube stay clamping assembly includes a clamping housing configured to receive a tube stay having a top, bottom, rear, and front walls, the tube stay being configured to receive a flattened portion of the finned tube. A clamping arm is connected by linking arms to a clamping block, the clamping block configured to engage and force the front wall into snap-fit engagement with the top wall of the tube stay.

Heat exchanger with barrier passages

A heat exchanger core consists of first and second fluid channels, each configured to direct flow of respective fluids through the heat exchanger core. Each first fluid channel includes first fluid flow assemblies having inner channels formed by inner channel walls that contain the first fluid, each inner channel surrounded by a barrier channel having a barrier channel wall that isolates the barrier channel from the second fluid. One or more barrier channel vanes support the inner channel within the barrier channel. Each barrier channel provides a void space between the inner channel wall and the barrier channel wall, thereby fluidly separating the first fluid from the second fluid. Each barrier channel can receive the first or second fluid in the event of a breach of the inner channel wall or the barrier channel wall, thereby preventing intra-fluid contamination.
