Counter-flow energy recovery ventilator (ERV) core
A heat and humidity exchanger has example application in exchanging heat and water vapor between fresh air entering a building and air being vented from the building. The heat and humidity exchanger has a self-supporting core formed from layered sheets of a moisture-permeable material. Plenums are arranged to direct fluid streams into and out of the core. The plenums may be on opposing sides of the core to permit counterflow exchange of heat and water vapor.
MEMBRANE HEAT AND MASS EXCHANGER AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
A heat and mass exchange (HMX) device comprising a plurality of membranes arranged in a stack. Adjacent membranes are separated from one another by an airflow channel Each membrane of the stack comprises an array of integrated support structures that extend into the airflow channel and to the second membrane. The support structures comprise an adhesive material that is bonded to each membrane. The support structures divide the airflow channels into subchannels.
HEAT EXCHANGE SYSTEM WITH TUBING APPLIED TO A COMPLEX CURVED SURFACE
A heat exchange system includes cooling tubes that carry coolant and are placed on an external surface of a storage tank, which may be spherical, cylindrical, or other shape. The storage tank may be a cryogenic rocket fuel tank. The cooling tubes are bent to particular radius of curvatures that correspond to the varying curvatures of the storage tank. A network of spacers and bridge brackets with adjustable setscrews are used to precisely place the cooling tubes in correct positions on the external surface of the storage tank. Once placed in the desired position, the setscrews are adjusted to maximize the surface area contact between the cooling tubes and the exterior surface of the storage tank, resulting in optimal heat transfer without overstressing the materials of the tubing or the storage tank. The precisely positioned tubes may then be permanently affixed to the exterior surface of the storage tank using a cryogenic adhesive.
Photovoltaic panel system assembly method
A cooling system for a photovoltaic panel including micro flat heat pipes (HP) integrated with thermoelectric generators (TEG) and a cooled water reservoir for cooling the working fluid in heat pipes. The cooled water in the reservoir is pumped from the condensate pan of an air conditioner. Experimental results show that cooling system reduced the average temperature of the panel by as much as 19? C. or 25%. Further, the output power of the photovoltaic panel increased by 44% when the photovoltaic panel was used in a very hot climate (30-40? C.). An additional two watts of power was generated by the TEGs.
Apparatus of heat pipe quality detection using infrared thermal imager and method thereof
An apparatus is provided for detecting the quality of a heat pipe. The apparatus has an infrared (IR) thermal imager bound with a data computing-and-analyzing program to detect thermal conductivity quality and vacuum quality of the heat pipe. An online overall detection is thus provided to quickly detect the quality of the heat pipe without damage for efficient quality control. Requirements of quality detection are met for mass production of heat pipes. The apparatus comprises the heat pipe to be tested; a tape adhered to a surface of the heat pipe; a fixed base for disposing the heat pipe; a heating device in an allocation space of the fixed base; the IR thermal imager located facing to the tape; a signal line connected to the IR thermal imager; and an electronic device connected to the IR thermal imager through the signal line.
THERMAL CONTROL TAPE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR A SPACECRAFT STRUCTURE
A thermal control tape for providing thermal control of a spacecraft structure, to which the thermal control tape is applied is provided. The thermal control tape has a filled silicone resin layer having a first side and a second side. The filled silicone resin layer has a silicone resin material filled with a white inorganic filler material. The tape further has a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) layer having a first side and a second side, the first side of the silicone PSA layer attached to the second side of the filled silicone resin layer. The filled silicone resin layer and the silicone PSA layer form the thermal control tape, with the second side of the silicone PSA layer configured for attachment to at least one surface of the spacecraft structure of a spacecraft, to provide thermal control of the spacecraft structure, by radiating heat away from the spacecraft structure.
Heat-shrink bracket
A bracket for mounting a heat exchanger to a mounting structure. The bracket includes a heat exchanger engagement portion having a heat-shrink material configured to contract and shrink onto a portion of the heat exchanger when heated to secure the heat exchanger engagement portion to the heat exchanger. A mounting portion extends from the heat exchanger engagement portion and is configured to be affixed to the mounting structure to rigidly mount the heat exchanger.
Plate heat exchanger with mounting flange
A plate heat exchanger comprises a plate package of permanently connected heat exchanger plates that defines a surrounding wall. Two mounting plates are permanently connected to an end surface of the plate package, in spaced relation to each other. Each mounting plate comprises opposing flat engagement surfaces and a peripheral edge that forms a perimeter of the mounting plate. Each mounting plate is arranged with one of its engagement surfaces permanently connected to the end surface, such that the peripheral edge partially extends beyond the outer periphery of the end surface, to define a mounting flange, and partially extends across the end surface in contact with the same. The mounting plates have a decreasing thickness towards the peripheral edge in predefined intersection regions, which are located where the peripheral edge intersects with the perimeter of the surrounding wall as seen in a normal direction to the end surface.
HEAT EXCHANGE MODULE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
A heat exchange module alone or part of a system including a control console. The HEM can include a channel enclosure assembly, a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) assembly and a heat transfer (cover) assembly. The enclosure assembly includes a channel for a heat-transfer liquid. The module can be constructed to provide for flexibility to better conform and fit on rounded and/or angular body parts and to efficiently transfer heat between the adjacent body part and the heat-transfer liquid via the TECs of the TEC assembly.
Cooling Sticker For Cooling Hot Spots In Cellular Telephones
A removable cooling sticker secured to the surface of a cellular telephone for extraction of heat from the cellular telephone. The cooling sticker is thin and sized to be conveniently carried. The cooling sticker is adhered to the cellular telephone at its hot spot for maximum efficiency. An optional feature employs thermal strips that indicate when the electronic device is exceeding a temperature threshold sticker
