Pressure expansion methods for heat exchanger manufacturing
Methods for expanding a tube to create a tight fit or an interference fit with one or more fins for the manufacture of a heat exchanger are disclosed. The methods can include providing an internal pressure to the tubes in a successive pulsing manner with each pulse having a short duration. The methods can include creating a temperature differential between the bend sections of the tubes and the straight sections of the tubes such that the bend section has a lower temperature than the straight sections. The methods can include creating an external pressure differential between the bend sections of the tubes and the straight sections of the tubes such that the external pressure acting on the bend sections is greater than the external pressure acting on the straight sections.
Heat exchanger, exchanger plate, and method of construction
A plate heat exchanger and methods of construction and use which allow the plate assemblies used in the exchanger to be easily cleaned and maintained and which allow the plate assemblies to be individually and separately removed from the exchanger for cleaning or maintenance while the exchanger remains online and while the other plate assemblies in the plate heat exchanger continue to operate.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HEAT EXCHANGER FOR ROTATING ELECTRICAL MACHINE, AND PRESSING DEVICE
In a method of manufacturing a heat exchanger for a rotating electrical machine, a pressing device is placed inside a tube with elastic members compressed so that a first pressing part and a second pressing part press the tube mutually oppositely in directions in which the diameter of at least a part of the tube located between two through holes of two supporting members expands. Pressure is built up in the tube and the tube is plastically deformed to form an inside large diameter part and inside connecting parts.
Internal hydroforming method for manufacturing heat pipe wicks
A forming assembly configured to form a wick is disclosed. The forming assembly includes an expandable tube and a forming shell assembly. The expandable tube is hydraulically expandable to an expanded configuration. A wick mesh is configured to be wrapped about the expandable tube. The forming shell assembly includes a first forming shell comprising a first recess defined therein and a second forming shell comprising a second recess defined therein. The first recess and the second recess cooperate to define an outer diameter of the wick. The expandable tube and the wick mesh are positionable between the first recess and the second recess. The expandable tube and the forming shell assembly are configured to deform the wick mesh and form the wick based on the expandable tube hydraulically expanding towards the expanded configuration.
Header tank and corresponding heat exchanger
The invention relates to a header tank (5) for a mechanically assembled heat exchanger, notably for a motor vehicle, said exchanger (1) comprising a mechanically assembled heat-exchange core bundle (3) and comprising at least one row of tubes (31) with two end tubes (31) one at each end of said at least one row, the tubes (31) respectively comprising an end (311) intended to open into an interior volume of the header tank (5). According to the invention, the header tank (5) comprises at least one end stop (55) configured to be positioned facing an internal surface of the end (311) of an associated end tube (31) and to collaborate with said internal surface in such a way as to prevent said tube (31) from moving in the direction of the interior volume of the header tank (5).
Heat exchanger and associated tube sheet
A heat exchanger includes a body portion and a pair of end plates at least partially forming an enclosure with the body portion. A plurality of tubes extend through at least one of the body portion and the pair of end plates. At least one tube sheet includes a plurality of openings with a corresponding one of the plurality of tubes located in one of the plurality of openings. The tube sheet is made of a material which expands in the presence of refrigerant.
Cost Effective Heat Exchangers for Thermochemical Biomass Conversion.
A heat exchanger (10) for a thermochemical biomass converter, the heat exchanger (10) comprises first and second conduits (12a, 12b) that are configured to carry, in use, process medium of the converter, and a heat transfer member (14) that thermally connects the first and second conduits (12a, 12b) to one another to define a heat transfer medium between the conduits (12a, 12b). The thermal expansion coefficient of the first and second conduits (12a, 12b) is matched to the thermal expansion coefficient of the heat transfer member (14) to continually provide thermal connection between the heat transfer member (14) and conduits (12a, 12b) under changing temperature conditions.
Method for preparing evaporator for reducing water condensing capacity and evaporator
The present invention discloses a method for preparing an evaporator for reducing water condensing capacity and an evaporator. The preparation method comprises steps of: step A: selecting fins; step B: stacking; step C: arranging tubes; and, step D: expanding tubes. In accordance with the present invention, the existing fins and devices can be used to produce an evaporator in which the distance between two adjacent fins satisfies the requirements of the freezing operation, ensuring the normal operation of an air conditioner when the refrigeration temperature is below 0° C.
FINNED TUBE HEAT EXCHANGERS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A heat exchanger fin is disclosed. The fin can include a fin portion and a collar portion defining a fin aperture that has a central axis passing therethrough. The collar portion can include a nesting end including a nesting portion and a receiving end that (i) is located apart from the nesting end in an axial direction and (ii) comprises one or more bends to form an overhang portion that defines a gap located radially inward of the overhang portion. The gap can be dimensioned to at least partially receive the nesting portion. The collar portion can also include a contact portion extending between the nesting end and the receiving end, and the contact portion can be configured to abut an outer surface of a tube when the tube is at least partially inserted into the fin aperture.
