ADJUSTMENT ASSEMBLY IN A FIREARM SIGHT
A reflector sight for a firearm, comprises an adjustment assembly for adjusting the location of a reticule within the field of view. The adjustment assembly comprises: a pair of vertical and horizontal adjustment screws; and a carrier body associated with a reticule generator, the carrier body having a pair of mutually perpendicular channels within which respective substantially cylindrical barrel nuts for the pair of adjustment screws are located. Each channel is configured to allow longitudinal movement of its respective barrel nut along the channel but relative movement perpendicular thereto is constrained, such that rotation of the adjustment screws can move the carrier in the horizontal and vertical directions without requiring any axial movement of the adjustment screws.
Optic cover with releasably retained display
A cover for use with an optic device to hold and display shooting information. The cover may have resilient retention members that allow a display to be releasably attached and detached from the cover. The display may be made from a single substrate or multiple substrates in order to make the shooting information contained thereon highly visible in a variety of conditions and shooting preferences. The cover may include a flexible body for securing the cover to optic devices of a variety of sizes.
Flip sight systems for firearms
Flip sight systems having multiple configurations for use with firearms in accordance with various embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In one embodiment, a flip sight system is provided, comprising: a front sight assembly comprising: a front base, a front pivot joint; and a front sight; a rear sight assembly comprising: a rear base, a rear pivot joint, and a rear sight; wherein the flip sight system includes a first deployed configuration where the front sight and the rear sight are offset to the attached optics such that the flip sight system operates as primary sights for close range targets, a second deployed configuration where the front sight and the rear sight are in-line with the attached optics such that the flip sight system operates as co-witness or backup sights to the attached optics, a first collapsed configuration for storage, and a second collapsed configuration for storage.
MAGNETIC ACTIVATION OF AN OPTIC FOR A GUN
A system and method for activating an optic for a gun. A magnetic field from a magnet proximate the optic is detected. Power to the optic is turned off from a battery of the optic in response to detecting the magnetic field. Power to the optic is turned on from a battery in response to not detecting the magnetic field.
OPTICAL ASSEMBLY WITH PROTECTIVE FLEXING MEMBER AND/OR MECHANICAL REAR SIGHT FEATURES
In various embodiments, an optic sight or an apparatus usable with an optic sight may include a protective flexing member, and/or a mechanical rear sight or a representation thereof viewable when looking through the optic sight when the optic sight is mounted to a firearm assembly; wherein: the mechanical rear sight or the representation thereof is integrally formed with the optic sight, and a rearmost part of the rear mechanical sight is positioned in front of the emitter of the optic sight, or the mechanical rear sight comprises a modular mechanical rear sight to fit into a slot or other opening of the firearm assembly or the optic sight, and a rearmost part of the rear mechanical sight is positioned in front of a front-most light transmissive surface of the optic sight. Other embodiments may be disclosed and/or claimed.
OPTIC GUARD FRAME ON OPTIC SIGHT OR OPTIC MOUNTING ADAPTER
In various embodiments, an apparatus may include a frame to protect a front-most light transmissive surface of an optic sight or framing thereof, wherein a part of a back of the frame is spaced apart from the front-most light transmissive surface of the optic sight or the framing thereof; wherein the frame is integrally formed on a front of the optic sight or configured to fixably or releasably coupled to the front of the optic sight, or wherein the frame is configured to fixably or releasably attach to an optic mounting plate or other optic mounting adapter on which the optic sight is mountable, and wherein in the case the frame is configured to fixably or releasably attach to the optic mounting plate or other optic mounting adapter, the frame includes an attachment interface to interference fit, via press-fit or mechanical deformation, to the optic mounting plate or other optic mounting adapter. Other embodiments may be disclosed and/or claimed.
Firearm sight with retractable sunshade
A firearm sight comprises a sight body including a clamp at its lower extent for removably securing the sight to a portion of a firearm. An upwardly facing surface is disposed on the sight body above the clamp and a housing projects above the upwardly facing portion, the housing containing a lens assembly. A shade is carried by the sight body, the shade movable along the sight body from a retracted position in which the shell is at least partially contained by the housing, and an extended position in which the shell extends over the upwardly facing surface.
