SIGHT ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM WITH FIREARM STATUS INDICATOR
A sight assembly for a firearm includes an optical sight configured for mounting to a firearm. The optical sight includes a sight body retaining a lens and has a point-of-aim indicator visible on the lens. A light source on the sight body is configured to communicate a firearm status to a user, such as whether a round is chambered in a chamber of the firearm. In one example, the sight assembly can be mounted to a handgun or atop a rifle. In some embodiments, the optical sight is configured as a reflex sight.
Pointing Devices, Apparatus, Systems and Methods for High Shock Environments
Devices, apparatus, systems and methods for providing accurate linear and angular positioning with a payload mounted to a beam having freely moveable ends. The payload can be a laser pointer mounted on a firearm, which maintains the initial precise pointing during and after exposure in high G shock and vibration environments. Vertical and lateral adjustment controls can adjust minute changes in beam orientation. Precision adjustments can be performed in a zero G, one G, or high G environment and maintains the adjustment during and after being exposed to a high G shock or vibration environment.
FIREARM ACCESSORY MOUNTING INTERFACE
An accessory mounting interface for a firearm, and a related method, are disclosed. The interface has a firearm accessory, a first elongated fastener, and a second fastener rotationally mated to the first elongated fastener. The first elongated fastener has right-handed threading and is arranged through a through hole in the firearm accessory with a first end extending below first and second halves of a first slot protrusion of the firearm accessory. The second fastener has a length greater than a width, the length measured along a longitudinal axis of the second fastener, the second fastener having a plurality of straight edges. At least one of the plurality of straight edges prevents the second fastener from rotating further than a closed position when the at least one of the straight edges abuts a sidewall of an elongated slot in the firearm.
Sighting system for a firearm
A sighting system for a firearm, configured for securing about a firearm, the sighting system housed in a housing, with a smart phone or smart device mounting platform rotatably coupled thereon, with an additional rear viewing camera, integral or attachable to an armature. This said armature, additionally passes through an open portion of a clamping device, that is attachable to a threaded base portion, of the back side of said smart device mounting platform, and is both height and angularly adjustable. This said sighting device, provides the target image that is either received from other target viewing devices mounted on the firearm, or provides its own target image, to the smart device, where this said target image is viewable by the user, from any position that the user could position himself in relation to the firearm, by means of the said rotatable smartphone or smart device mounting platform. The image of the area behind the user would also be provided at the same time, by means of the said height and angularly adjustable rear viewing camera, that would either display its image simultaneously in a window of, or on, a split screen on the smart device's viewing screen, or would provide the image behind the user simultaneously, in its own viewing screen.
Attachment bracket for mounting a sight or other targeting device to a bow for hunting at night
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a mounting bracket for coupling a sight or other targeting device to a bow. In an illustrative example, the sight may be a thermal or night-vision sight, and an electronic device may optically couple to the sight for displaying a view through the sight on a display screen of the electronic device. The sight may fixedly couple to the mounting bracket via, for example, a Picatinny-style rail/mount. An on-the-fly windage/elevation adjustment mechanism may allow for adjustments, for example, to the windage and/or elevation of the sight coupled to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket may utilize, for example, a thermal or night-vision sight that may be beneficial for use in low light conditions, such as bow hunting at night.
Precision adjustments can be performed in a zero G, one G, or high G environment and maintains the adjustment daring and after being exposed to a high G shock or vibration environment.
Method for shock attenuation device using a pivot mechanism
A method for forming a weapon accessory mounting device to attach to a projectile firing weapon is disclosed. A flexure for receiving a body of the weapon accessory is formed. A pivot portion is formed at a first end of the flexure to attach the flexure to the weapon at a first attachment region. A second attachment portion is formed at a second end of the flexure to attach the flexure to the weapon at a second attachment region. A first aperture is formed in the pivot portion configured to receive a pivot pin. A second aperture in the weapon accessory body receives the pivot pin at a weapon accessory body first end to attach the weapon accessory body first end to the pivot portion. The pivot portion is configured to convert at least a portion of energy of a weapon shock recoil from translational energy to rotational energy.
Device for supporting a firearm
The invention is a device for supporting a firearm. The device comprises a body, a gripping arrangement, a fixing arrangement for the gripping arrangement and a holding arrangement for fixing the body onto the scope rail of the firearm. The body has an upper surface and a bottom surface and a first side and a second side, and on the bottom surface is a rail channel. The walls of the rail channel are configured in such a way that at least part of the scope rail can be fitted into the rail channel, and the fixing arrangement for the gripping arrangement is configured to fix the gripping arrangement into a first position where the gripping arrangement extend from the first side of the body. The first end of the gripping arrangement is configured to grip a surface when supporting the firearm.
Mounting mechanism
A mounting mechanism has a base upon which a rotating cam is mounted. The cam has a lobe which extends beyond the perimeter of the base when the cam is in a first position and remains within the perimeter of the base when the cam is in a second position. A detent is used to lock the cam in the first position. The detent includes a leaf spring positioned on the cam which defines a kink. The kink is engageable within a niche in the base when the cam is in the first position. An accessory attached to the mounting mechanism may be attached to a structure using the mounting mechanism. The base fits within a slot in the structure and the lobe of the cam engages the structure when the cam is in the first position to lock the mounting mechanism and the accessory to the structure.
