Abrasive coating for high-temperature mechanical systems
A system may include a stationary component including: a substrate and an abradable layer on the substrate. The system also may include a rotating component including a tip and an abrasive coating system on the tip. The abrasive coating system may include a barrier layer and an abrasive material. The barrier layer may include at least one of hafnon, hafnium oxide, a blend of hafnium oxide and silicon or silicon oxide, a rare earth silicate, BSAS, stabilized zirconia, or stabilized hafnia. The blade track or blade shroud and the gas turbine blade are configured so the abrasive coating system contacts a portion of the abradable layer during rotation of the rotating component. The abradable layer is configured to be abraded by the contact by the abrasive coating system.

GAS TURBINE ENGINE COMPONENT WITH PROTECTIVE COATING
A gas turbine engine component made of a nickel-based superalloy, the gas turbine engine component comprising a protective coating. The protective coating includes an inner diffusion barrier layer including any one or any combination of elements selected from the group consisting of platinum, palladium, tantalum, tungsten, hafnium and iridium, and an outer layer of hard material formed of hard particles embedded in a matrix.
Process for producing a run-in coating
Disclosed is a process for producing a run-in coating (20, 24, 32, 44) on a component of a turbomachine, in particular of a gas turbine. The run-in coating is applied and produced on the component of the turbomachine by a kinetic cold gas compacting process (K3). The invention also encompasses a run-in coating for a static or rotating component of a turbomachine and a static or rotating component of a turbomachine, in particular of a gas turbine, having at least one run-in coating.
Gas turbine engine rotor blade
A rotor blade for a gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, an airfoil extending in span between a root region and a tip region and a tip portion extending at an angle from the tip region of the airfoil.

Aspirating face seal assembly for a rotary machine
A seal assembly for a rotary machine is positioned between a rotating component and a stationary component of the rotary machine. The seal assembly includes a seal bearing face that opposes the rotating component and a slide device. The slide device is positioned between different fluid pressure volumes in the rotary machine. The slide device axially moves toward the rotating component responsive to pressurization of the rotary machine. The slide device includes cross-over ports and the seal bearing face includes feed ports. The feed ports extend through the seal bearing face to form an aerostatic portion of a film bearing between the seal bearing face and the rotating component. The seal bearing face and/or the rotating component is a non-planar surface that, during rotating motion of the rotating component, forms an aerodynamic portion of the film bearing between the seal bearing face and the rotating component.

FILM-COOLED GAS TURBINE COMPONENT
A film-cooled gas turbine component for a gas turbine has a surface exposed to a hot gas and a number of film-cooling openings open out, which film-cooling openings combined to form at least one row transverse to a flow direction of the hot gas. Each of the film-cooling openings has a duct section and a diffuser section having an upstream diffuser edge, two diffuser longitudinal edges and a downstream diffuser edge. At least two immediately adjacent film-cooling openings, of the respective row have their duct axes of the respective duct sections laterally inclined relative to the local flow direction of the hot gas and their diffuser sections are formed asymmetrically with respect to a projection of the duct axis, such that immediately adjacent corner regions of the respective film-cooling openings are in alignment without the respective diffuser sections making contact with one another.
